Not just that, but we're trying to avoid the hate-trap a lot of bigots fall into, themselves. I dont mean in the sense of the slippery slope fallacy- just that we're trying to avoid depersonalizing/dehumanizing them in turn, and becoming part of the driving force in the cycle.

It doesnt mean we're less angry or scared- we're just trying to 1. Protect our own stability, in many cases, and 2. Turn it all loose on the right targets at the right moment for maximum affect.
