Full Moon in Aquarius
Posting a lil bit late. Time has gotten away from me...
The Full Moon in Aquarius exacts at 6 degrees 30 minutes on Wednesday, July 29th at 10:36 AM ET. This moon is conjunct Pluto and Juno in Aquarius, illuminating commitments that bind us or unite us in power. The sun shines at the same degree in Leo forming a cazimi with Jupiter, an incredibly powerful combination that can bring personal and professional recognition and achievement, enhanced vitality, and social advancement.
With Aquarius, many heads are better than one. Diverse perspectives create more inclusive solutions which equates to better outcomes for all. That being said, the power of the people and collective intelligence can create serious disruption to the, often oppressive, status quoâŚ
Cue Uranus! This full moon trines this outer planet known as The Great Disruptor, himself, who is also recognized as the ruler of Aquarius in modern astrology. That means this sky supports fresh ideas and perspectives that embrace provocation (stir that pot!). This could also bring another side to an old story that feels blindsiding, but also liberating. Ultimately we have an opportunity to release the need to be seen as anything other than who and what we truly are, and surprise ourselves at how bold we can be. We may also discover we are finally willing to accept ourselves or a situation as it is but also that we no longer fear the opinions of others who are involved or speculating. We could find ourselves pleasantly surprised to learn that they really donât care as much as we thought.
The previous weekâs Jupiter - Pluto opposition is still toning down. On the world stage, we saw the New York City Mayor Mamdani release a video stating that, despite campaign promises to detain Israelâs polarizing prime minister, New York City lacks the legal authority to enforce an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu during his planned trip to NYC for the UN assembly this fall. Jupiter in Leo represents leaders of high visibility and Pluto in Aquarius represents the, often understated, power of the people. This transit brought forth Mamdaniâs candidness about that power's limitations to the public (though it was likely already known by Mamdaniâs team long before). Keep in mind that Pluto is also a significator for politicians, particularly those who have great influence over the masses, according to Ebertin. Pluto is the power of persuasion and Jupiter in Leo helps to win approval and favor. Keep in mind that there are many thoughtful interpretations for this and Iâm just offering a few.
The moon and sun reactivating these outer planetary energies from last week could bring updates on the above mentioned or other public stories in addition to your own personal experience of them.
The moon conjunct Pluto and Juno could awaken a dormant desire to merge with another, find deep forgiveness or give an absolute and final answer to a lingering conundrum based on information that wasnât previously accessible. This moon can also bring you help from others and heighten popularity depending on how it hits your chart.
The traditional ruler of this moon is Saturn in Aries which is currently at the start of a five-month retrograde. This energy can support overcoming fears, lowering barriers and defenses, and restructuring plans to gain what is desired. However, discernment may also be lower and boundaries easier to cross. This moonâs impulse is best focused on actions that have been long considered and calculated but were paused by fear, self-doubt, or red tape.
Furthermore, both Mars and Venus are sesquisquaring this moon while also squaring one another from Gemini and Virgo, respectively. The bright ideas that Uranus in Gemini brings out come with an energy that craves immediate implementation by Mars. However, Venus in Virgo gives a critical eye for detail and prefers perfection over speed in implementation. Venus oversees our relationships, so be mindful of holding folks to impossible standards and be mindful of your words and actions that could come off as harsh or insensitive. If tension arises, talking a walk, doing a quick workout or any safe physical activity can take the edge off.
Full Moon in Aquarius Tiny Ritual Idea:
Write down one belief or opinion you've been holding back from a group (friends, family, coworkers) out of fear of judgment. Read it aloud to yourself, then either share it with one trusted person or safely burn/shred the paper as a symbolic release of that fear.
Another activity is to look at the tarot card associated with this decan of Aquarius, the 5 of Swords and write down what vibes you pick up on from the image and whatever else comes to mind. Look up the traditional meaning and compare or pull additional cards to clarify what this energy represents in your life right now.
Reflection Questions:
Where have you been silencing your voice to keep the peace, and what would change if you spoke up?
What outdated belief about yourself or a situation can be released now that new information has come to light?
Who or what community makes you feel your individuality is valued rather than tolerated?
