The Old/New Way to Learn Latin
Four great teachers: the Dane Ørberg (our book's author), the Englishman Rouse (professor of Sanskrit at Cambridge and revolutionary teacher of Latin and Greek at the local boys' school), the American Foster ("the Pope's Latinist") and the Italian Miraglia (one of the most fluent Latin speakers alive and a man who, along with a friend of mine from Ohio State, provided a lot of the ancillary material for our book).
To be fair, we really should add the American Tunberg and Bulgarian Minkova to our list of living or recent greats, as well probably as another American, Shane Butler. (I took Latin composition with him at Penn and am still kicking myself for not making more of that rare opportunity! I am just a simple Hellenist and nothing of the Latinist and Latin teacher that he is, but what I do have to offer, as the only state-school Latin teacher in the county, I hope you'll take advantage of!)
