Starting now. 

I’ve sorted out my life decisions; the good, the bad and the worst. I’m going to make great decisions and rules to follow in life (although not including money). True enough, this is for the better and for me to be truly happy in this almost insane cycle of what we consider to be life.

1. Start being healthy!

               This one is hard. It is probably the hardest decision that will ever come across my silly mind. Yes, I do love to munch a lot, especially when it’s free! I mean who doesn’t love something that’s free? I love salty foods, sweet ones, oily and fatty ones. I’m generally not healthy at all! But I am starting to get a balanced meal. But I will have a cheat day (after every final exam of every semester).

               I also drink alcohol and it’s very unusual for a girl to do so but yeah, a habit, so I gotta stick to sparkly wine and wine from now on. Starting to sleep early too is a must.

               So that’s rule no. 1 and I have to live by it.

2. Stop using curse words!

               I don’t like this one. What I mean is that, this is illegal in the bible and I’m not throughout a very religious person but I do somehow live by in my life principles and that’s just simple. Do well, be good, and pray to one God.

               Honestly, I tried so hard in doing this before but as you can see, it’s a difficult process especially with the environment that I had before. I’m not blaming anyone; it’s my fault for actually taking it all in and going with the flow. Come to think of it, there isn’t any reason for me to ponder as to why it is wrong. Maybe because it makes you feel less pain when you say such words.

               I might still say some, but not as they as created. I will try to keep them at bay along with my emotions so that no one will be hurt.

3. No more secrets

               Who doesn’t love keeping a good ol’ secret about whom your crush is and all that silly stuff. But I guess now that I’m turning 18, I no longer want to keep a secret. Secrets can be the reason why you aren’t comfortable with the people you know now, and it may cause a great rift in the near future. Say what you have to say. They have to know what they have to know, and so do you.

               It is also connected to lying, because you’re making untrue statements and keeping the truth away from the seeker (gotta stop lying too). This also counts for back-biting and all. It’s a sin. My professor who taught us this tells us that the only way to be forgiven with this kind of sin is to pray for forgiveness and literally stop doing it. Having this kind of habit will not make you any better anyway so why continue? Is it really worth it? I admit it is pretty worth it. But it doesn’t give you the same amount of satisfaction you are receiving just like when you’re achieving something. As a matter of fact, this doesn’t benefit to you at all. It only causes more damage not only to you, but also to the person you’re talking about.

               It will be impossible for me to do this, but I’ve got nothing to lose anyway, why else would I not do this?

4. No more hatred

               You read that right! No more hating meaning, no more bashing people, refraining from being bitter and being a distasteful person in general. Honestly, this world is already full of heartless people and I don’t want to be a part of that faction because hating doesn’t result to any reasonable amount of happiness as said in Rule no. 3.

               Before, this became a trend, and then it became a habit of mine. There are instances wherein I would be bitter behind or even upfront with the people (mostly couples and i.e, Justin Bieber). Plus the fact that it’s so rude. Realizing how stupid that was, gives me a reason on how much I have to eliminate it from my system.

               And this is also for judging people. I have yet to admit that this gives me the uttermost satisfaction. I am guessing it’s also for you too. But yeah, it is a toxic habit and if you won’t get rid of it. It’s not going to prove anything of you, it’ll only destroy you.

               We were all advised to quit this habit because if your principles are to be good then this will be a counter statement.

5. Start Praying for Everyone

               For believers please do this. Sometimes it’s unreasonable but it’s for the better. May it be for someone’s strength to hold on, or for someone’s relationship to be longer, fuller, and stronger (like your hair). This is basically Rule no. 4 but now spreading the love just like Nutella. It’s not necessary, really, but through this, I became a less hateful person.

               This also generates passion and love for people which will increase the chances of survival of this world. And trust me; it satisfies the human soul, thinking that you’ve done something good.

               And be true to your prayers! Don’t do it half-heartedly, okay?
