Having trouble saving money?

I've only been doing this for about 3 weeks and I have about 5mil now.

You guys should try it!

Even if you don't have a dye well, just sell the herbs and ores. They don't take very long to get.

I go to the Shyllien Central Complex and gather herbs from the sparkles and the Hillwen mines for unknown ores. I occasionally summon my Border Collie so he'll pick up the herbs and ores when I'm not looking.

I sell for herbs for 30k a stack and ores for 20k. (Could be different depending on server)

What you want is to make desirable songs that sound good and are complete - I can’t stress this enough: don’t sell songs you can’t make. Even if you are only one rank away, don’t try it. People will quickly grow to mistrust you, and warn others away if you try to sell them half-finished songs.

Musical Knowledge is another skill you need, and it is sadly often neglected. The simple fact of the matter is that a Grade 1 scroll is a lot more desirable than a Drawing. You could be R1 in Composition, but all your customers will see is that low Musical Knowledge grade. Getting to R9 in Musical Knowledge should be a priority, as it will allow you to create music with magical effects and increase the value of your songs.

As for pricing, it all depends on your ranks. I’ve seen prices range from 1k to 30k in Alexina, depending on how skilled the composer is. Scrolls edited for instruments such as Guitar, Microphone and Violin are also likely to sell for a higher amount.

As a basic idea, I have R5 Composition and R9 Musical Knowledge, and sell my songs for 2.5k each. This may be quite cheap, but the low price allows customers to buy on a whim, and/or buy in bulk without worrying as much about the state of their gold bags.

In the end, the exact prices and stock are up to you. Open a personal shop in a town, (I would recommend Dunbarton) fill it with the songs you want to make, and hopefully watch the gold roll in.

When and when not to use, the “Big Guns”. Durability is something that comes up a lot and when you are talking damage, weapon selection is important. Maxing your damage is great but you don’t need to do it all the time.  Most of the time, for any style of combat there are okay weapons (maybe not great) but are very cheap to repair. If you choose to upgrade these you will be missing out on even less power.

These kinds of weapons are great for easy missions and other times when all your power is simply unneeded.

The same goes for armor. A cheap set of light armor may be all you need to still get some defense but not wear out your precious heavy armor durability.

By not using your best equips for activities that honestly don’t need then you save repairing (and possibly losing max durability) on those things that give you the “umph” to your attacks. This minimizes the times you have to repair and maximizes the time you have that weapon/other equip before having to replace it.  

Also if you don’t feel like keeping a set of lesser equips around, just buy stock things and sell them to an npc at 0 durability and buy more. Buying a new 2h sword is the same price as repairing a 2h from zero durability at 95% and you are guaranteed to have a new weapon at full durability, rather than having that 95% drop you a durability or two.

This strategy does lower your damage but because of that teaches you to fight smarter too.

I’ve been doing a lot of PTJs lately in Dunbarton, so I figured this might be useful to submit! It works best if you have a lot of alternate characters and a partner, but it’s not that big of a deal if you don’t.

Getting Holy Waters … Which is probably one of the most obvious ways of making money, but it works pretty well. In Ruairi, at least, HW stacks can go from 15k ~ 25k from what I’ve seen, and usually it averages around 18k.

Things you’ll need or things which would be helpful:

Life Skill Talents - If you have a life skill Talent, then you’ll be getting 5 Holy Waters per PTJ you complete, rather than 4! So if you have alts that you can free rebirth, switch them over to a life talent.

Eggs - Lots and lots of eggs. Both Manus and Kristell have a PTJ that asks for 15 eggs, so you could possibly burn through 30 in one day.

Potatoes - Kristell can ask for 10 potatoes.

Berries - Manus can ask for 5 of these. You’ll hate trees.

Apples - Kristell can ask for 3. Again, you’ll hate trees.

Pet(s) - Mostly to store the items you collect, and if you have alts, to transfer the items. I normally just shove everything into a pet and take things as I need them.

In-Game Alarm -I have one set to 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, since those are when you can hand in Manus and Kristell’s part time jobs, respectively. Be careful if you use an alarm for trans, since this has tripped me up quite often when I first used them.

If you don’t want to deal with getting Apples and Berries, going to Tailltean and doing Collen’s PTJ (15 eggs or 10 potatoes), but unless you want to travel to and from Dunbarton, you might be missing out on Manus’ part time.

So, if you manage to do both Manus and Kristell’s PTJ in a day with a life talent, that’s around 18k per in-game day for each character. Not great, but there’s a lot of time that lingers where you can just laze around.

If you’re in Dunbarton, you can also do Glenis’ part time job, which has the same hours as Kristell’s. It’s not particularly profitable, but it’s not that hard unless she asks for 5 berries or for Milk, since the other two are just delivery quests. Finishing her job can give you 2 homestead seeds, which you can sell a stack of for anywhere between 15k and 30k, from what little of them I’ve seen around.

Lately I’ve been trying to earn gold on Mabi without having to buy too much NX. So I’ve been talking with my friends about ways to earn gold that I could accomplish myself. I tried and tried but I’m still losing money more than gaining. I’ve also noticed that other people are having a hard time with this too.

I thought, “Instead of asking the tag, why don’t I just make a blog so anyone can see these ideas whenever they want?”

So here I am!

The purpose of this blog is to get people to ask of submit how they earn gold in Mabi. It could be things like shadow mission spam, what’s in high demand that could be gathered or rewarded, or commercing. Anything will do!

So please submit your methods and I’ll post them for everyone to see!
