Anything Goes!

Colour me impressed, that really is amazing. Especially at your age. I’ve never really had any leaning towards art, I like knowing about it but actually producing it…[she made an abortive hand gesture] no talent in that department. I’ve always been more academic… [She shakes her head] Anyway enough about that, what’re…what’re you going to do now?  

Well, thank you. [smiles weakly, grinning through the pain of the moving child] Yeah, My mom wanted me to be more of a scholar. And I was.

Wow that’s incredible, you really are a hard worker, and a soprano I take it? [She sniffs and smiles] Are you able to stay on at the school despite the baby?

[smiles] Classically trained in Opera, yes. And, yes.

Oh I thought…never mind. You have a job too? How…that’s an awful lot of stress you’re putting yourself under. You didn’t want to get fat, which you aren’t, but the baby? Surely this now means you can’t work…

I had a job. I was playing Weldna in Spring Awakening and Christine in Love Never Dies on West End. 

For two years, Savannah that’s terrific that you got better! [She nudges the girl’s foot with her own.] Is the bulimia due to the baby being half-werewolf or because of some other reason? 

For two years I ate normally and then threw it up.

I…[she cocked her head as initially sluggish memories from a biological health lessons sharpened]… you mean bulimia? You only get them if you’re…you’re extremely bulimic…Savannah…you’re not alright are you? And it’s got nothing to do with the baby has it?

A few months back. Of course it had to do with the baby. I was anorexic for two years, and then regained back to eating normally.

A half were-baby, [she giggled at the thought] or is it cub? Do they call them cubs? [She smiled despite herself and rubbed her eyes trying to rid them of any traces of tears. Then she caught sight of the other girl’s hands.] Savannah your hands, what happened? 

[sadly smiled and listens to her. Shrugging her shoulders a bit and leaning softly against the wall]

Oh Brett’s the father? [she raised her eyebrows as she processed this information] and the baby’s a he? You know the gender, that’s- that’s cool. [Her voice frustratingly still wavering she forced herself to ask questions in order to steady it.] Half what exactly?

Yeah,[she looked down to her hands, the shaking and bruised hands fell to her hips as she smiled] I-I'm not too sure about the gender, I-I...I just want it to be a boy.

[3 months she thinks, that’s a decision to keep it then. She finds the room in her mind to remember manners and smiles softly] Three months wow, congratulations then. That’s a- who’s the father if you don’t mind me asking, you said the baby might be…non-human?

Ca-carrying? Oh god Savannah you’re pregnant? Who- wha- that’s possible? Um are you ok? 

Yeah. I'm three months along.
