they spent way too much time establishing this very distinct feeling about lex for the viewer that mixes “wow he really does care about these people and wants to be good” and “why is he so intense and over-involving himself in their lives?” not to make his descent revolve around him doing increasingly worse acts and stepping over more and more lines to protect or help the people he cares about

lex is so fucking nice to lana in the early seasons im going to cry. its not fair lex wanted one friend and lana wanted one person who wouldnt abandon her and they were SO GOOD im clawing at the furniture
