     it was the same old song  :  focused on sasuke  ,  never herself.  even if her words were painted with anger  ,  the notion still rang true.  sakura thinks of him            of his heart  &  his mind  ,  but not her own.  the focus others held on his state of mind  (  after years of putting it on the back-burner ,  especially )  grated his nerves.  no one truly cared until you caved  ;  tasted the bittersweet liquor of revenge  ,  of hate  &  fell into addiction.  vaguely he imagines the soft-hearted girl vowing to follow him when he first left the village  ,  willing to throw her own life away on a  WHIM.  as if the very action would seal the cracks of his then bleeding heart.  the shadow of their childhood lingers  ,   a mocking disfiguration in the corner of their eyes.  they weren’t the same kids.
