So fucking wild to see the same anti-big government people go from not trusting the government at all, to being totally ok with masked government "agents" kidnapping people and shipping them to undisclosed, random locations.
Like do you guys hear yourselves? How fucking spineless and hypocritical do you have to be to support this when you spent your entire lives being against it? But they're ok with it because they don't see immigrants as people and will justify it by saying they deserved it for being illegal. If there is a hell, I hope y'all are ready to burn for your callousness, inhumanity, and hypocrisy.
I remember seeing a post that made my blood boil. Idk who made it but it doesn't matter. It was something along the lines of "girls, you need to realize that trans "women" will never advocate for you as much as you do for them".
I don't know if too many radfems have actually met a trans person irl or even attempted to talk to them. You would be shocked by how many trans people, and specifically trans women, champion women's liberation. But you would never know that if you shut yourself inside your "gender critical" bubble. And what happens when a trans woman tries to speak about feminism and women's lib? Well, no one wants to listen because they're trans. They couldn't possibly know anything about being a woman so anything they say is invalid. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
But the thing is, is that my advocacy for other groups of people isn't dependent on how much they advocate for me. If I see a group of people in need, I don't ask them to first advocate for me before I help them. I'm starting to think that the meaning of social justice has shifted from advocating for minority groups unconditionally to advocating for minority groups, only if they show me they're worthy first.
How many times do we have to go over that trans women are not some covert operation by the patriarchy to take down women or whatever bullshit conspiracy is popular now. They aren't all woman hating cross dressers who seek to destroy womanhood. They aren't incels who transition just to get some imaginary social clout.
There are absolutely trans women out there who are disturbingly misogynistic and think they have an excuse to do it because they're trans, there is no denying that. But there are also cis women who are disturbingly misogynistic and think they get a pass because they're cis women.
But it's just sad that the caricature of trans women that radfems have constructed in their ideology is one of a woman hating misogynist. It's sad they will never realize just how much stronger we could be if we tried to find a way for cis and trans women to coexist. It's sad they will never get to know anyone outside their bubble of transphobia because believe it or not, trans people are human too and they can be pretty cool ones at that. It's just sad, man
"We got duped."
No, you idiot, you gleefully ignored warnings about Project 2025 and made excuses because you're a cruel asshole who saw all of Trump's flaws and lifetime of chronic fraud as strength.

As an autistic person, you can literally tell someone "I mean this genuinely and literally and this is all genuinely good faith. I mean this all completely neutrally, I'm not implying anything else and this is all extremely literal and good faith" and someone will still misconstrue you in ways you never thought was possible.
I used to think that Twitter was the most negative space on the mainstream Internet until I signed up for Reddit. There could be the most innocent, unassuming post where you're like "oh, how cool/cute/fascinating!" And then you open the comments and half of them are death threats and the other half are just pessimistic bad takes. Like jesus you guys are fucking miserable
For example: someone on my local subreddit posted pictures of the wild mustangs roaming in the desert. I thought "how neat to get a picture of those guys, they're super hard to photograph."
The comments were "you should have shot those things when you had the chance" "erm acktually those are an invasive species so they're not cool, they should die" "why are you celebrating an invasive species, you should have killed them on the spot"
And people will insist that this is a healthy way to spend their free time

Reinstalled Wattpad because I wanted to try it out again and while I love that anyone can publish a story for fun it is very hard to get used to the grammar and punctuation errors. I am cool, I am calm, I am collected, I am definitely not having a mini stroke over the lack of paragraph breaks in between different characters' dialogue in this story
When you're an old Zoomer like me who has grown up with cell phones and portable technology, the novelty of it gets a little lost. Its just a fact if life that I have a cell phone and I can call or message anyone, anywhere, at any time. But sometimes it strikes me just how fucking insane that is.
Last Saturday I was sat at the top of a mountain after a hike (pictured below because it's too gorgeous not to share) and my mom called me. Without even thinking, I picked up the phone and informed her that I was on top of a mountain and unfortunately I couldn't meet up with her before she left town. And as I said that, I just got so blown away by how fucking cool it was that I could have a phone conversation miles into the wilderness on a mountaintop.
Technology can be annoying and cumbersome and sometimes just plain unnecessary but man it is still really cool we have these things
Picture of the view from said mountaintop:

Shoot me if this is toxic positivity but I really do think that assuming everyone is operating with ill intent is very harmful for our mental health and our relationships and world view as a whole.
I know the world is filled with terrors beyond our comprehension and it's hard to see that there are still lots of good, or even just neutral, people in the world. A lot of people do have other's best intentions in mind it's just hard to see when we have a cloud of suspicion and pessimism around us.
I think there may be a correlation between social media normalizing reading people's innermost thoughts day in and day out. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a new way of communicating. I mean, I'm doing it right now. But to see people's bad faith takes and negative perceptions about people and the world all the time as a whole can't be doing us any favors.
I even catch myself doing this, I assume that everyone will be agro assholes (just like they are online) when usually the worst is someone who is mildly pissed off.
When I went to my volunteer interview at the LGBT center I was wracked with nerves because I assumed, for some reason, that I would be quizzed on LGBT vocabulary and history and flag colors and pronouns and if I failed they would shame me and reject me for being a "fake queer". Of course, they were just happy to have a new face with some previous volunteer experience.
Yesterday, a guy came up to me at the gym and I silently freaked out, assuming he was going to be a creep. Turns out, he wanted to compliment me on my precise timing between sets because he doesn't see too many people do that.
This is not to say that there aren't horrible people out there, obviously there are just look at the news. But to assume that every single person in this world has your worst interest in mind is not helpful and will drain you, body, mind and soul
Sometimes I wonder if I don't speak clearly enough to be understood because man I've gotten some real conversational head scratchers lately.
Customer comes in the store and says "I need a medium" so I ask her "what type of medium?" (There are mediums, aka stuff you mix into paint, for every type of paint like acrylic, oil, watercolor, etc) and she just repeats herself. So I ask "are you using oil or acrylic or watercolor?" And she says it's none of those, she's trying to use spakle to create palette knife paintings and online she read there is a medium to use for it. So I tell her we don't really have anything like that but I'll show her the acrylic mediums just in case. She asks what the acrylic mediums are made of and I say, "well, acrylic." She goes "they're not water based?" And I go "no, they are acrylic based" she says "I need water based" so I show her the watercolor mediums but those actually won't work either, she decided. So I just leave her to do her own thing because I can't possibly communicate in any plainer language that we do not have what she is looking for
Do you want to be politically pure in theory or help your neighbor. Is it fruitless to help your neighbor because there's no Perfect Pure way to do it ?
Honestly I would rather be politically pure. Your neighbors would never help you, so why help them?
Youre who this post is talking about. Individualism and elitism is not going to help the revolution and grassroots activism and mutual aid.
When the pandemic hit this old church lady joined our tattooed queer leftist mutual aid group bc her church soup kitchen closed. We shrugged and told her she was welcome as long as she didn't proselytize.
That woman never gendered me right once, but she shut up about Jesus long enough to feed people next to us bc she cared more about action than ideology. She also had a whole network of other church people who helped contribute $ to ingredients. We provided more and better meals together than in our "correct" silos
That's how any of us get out of any of this
I've been thinking about how insanely twisted the modern feminist narrative around feminity has become and I've come to a conclusion that there seems to be no way a woman can exist that isn't somehow linked to internalized misogyny (according to the keyboard warriors, anyway).
A woman dresses and acts in a traditionally feminine way so obviously she's been brainwashed by the patriarchy to perform these behaviors. She is so stupid and incompetent that she cannot tell the difference between what makes her confident and happy and what is societal pressure.
A woman dresses and acts in a traditionally masculine way so obviously she's a pick me and hates other women. She is so filled with internalized misogyny that she can't see how wonderful and empowering being feminine is and she is betraying her sisters by not participating in traditional womanhood.
An unfortunate truth about true women's liberation is letting women dress and act the way they want to, even if it makes you uncomfortable or upset. Psychoanalyzing every breath a woman takes, every action as either directly feminist or anti feminist is exhausting and so fucking unnecessary. Sometimes women just exist without making a feminist statement.
Its especially weird when the woman in question is someone you don't know, who didn't ask to get a feminist think piece written on her supposed internalized misogyny because she wore a pink dress or basketball shorts in public.
Like yes, we as women should be aware of how our actions are potentially influenced by societal factors. That's not something exclusive to women though, that's for EVERYONE to be aware of. Especially in the age of social media and "influencers" our actions and opinions can be swayed by these people online.
It's more than just how we dress or the ratio of male to female friends we have or what fucking food we eat (because I guess there's a whole online debate about "pick me" girl foods or some bullshit). It's how we treat other women, how we help each other, how we educate ourselves, how we advocate for ourselves.
No one is more or less of a feminist because of how feminine they are/aren't. I thought we outgrew the girly girl vs tomboy thing in like middle school but I guess not
It's funny when you have a societally accepted addition because you're like "oh I'm not an addict". Like no girl, you couldn't make it through the day without caffeine and you couldn't sleep through the night without THC

Asexual people who feel pressured into having sex when they don’t want to and queer people that are afraid or ashamed of having sex even though they want to are actually being repressed by the same societal forces but nobody seems to want to talk about that
