like last night i lost over half my pay bc a group of white teenage boys ate $50 worth of food and just walked out. im literally a trans woman trying to make ends meet while also trying to afford medication
i work with an undocumented single mother, a lesbian that was kicked out of her house, and a whole lot of other poor ppl with stories a lot sadder than mine
so think abt how ur actions will affect other ppl, servers arent fucking well off, and were the ones who pay when u skip out on the bill
Similarly, don’t steal from retailers. Just because it’s a big corporation that “won’t miss $10″ doesn’t mean you’re not hurting anyone. You’re actually really hurting the hourly-wage workers who get blamed for the shrinkage. You cost good people their goddamn jobs.
When I worked for Walmart, half of my fellow employees were older people who should’ve been in retirement, but still needed to make ends meet somehow. The other half was comprised of young adults stuck in shitty situations beyond their control.
DINING AND DASHING IS A FORM OF STEALING. STEALING IS NOT COOL OR EDGY. IT’S FUCKING ILLEGAL AND I HOPE YOUR PUNK ASS GETS THROWN THE FUCK IN JAIL.
