I dislike it when in fics Kirk gets bored on dates Spock plans because they're too Vulcan or too intellectual, excuse me Jim Kirk is a nerd and into studying different cultures. He has all sorts of nerdy stuff in his quarters. These two are the geekiest couple in space.

not only is kirk a huge nerd, he’s a huge nerd who’s ridiculously in love with spock. there’s virtually 0% chance he would in any way be unhappy with their date, even if it was just him watching spock meditate - kirk would be fucking psyched to just observe that too

Spock could plan a date that was just the two of them doing calculus problems together, and Jim would freaking love it! That’s how much Jim loves Spock!
