The whole camp is impressed with his abilities and Percy just does his best not to let on how confused he is. He knows what he's capable of, more or less, and what he isn't. As son of the Earthshaker, he can move earth. But not like that.

He's practically an expert at sneaking out at this point. He finds a spot in the woods hopefully away from prying eyes and uses a lighter to burn a potato chip.

"Must you use such pitiful offerings?"

"What's going on?" he demands, rounding on his father. "I can't - did you see what I did? I can't do that!"

Poseidon lets out a deep, irritated sigh that causes the trees to sway. "Persephone has claimed you publicly. Hades long ago decreed that any child of Persephone must also be a child of his. Not precisely the intention, but it appears he's sticking to the letter of his oath."

That doesn't make any sense. "But I'm not his child! Or hers!"

"There is power in recognition," he answers. "Power is inheritable, of course, and it can be stolen and bought. But it can also be given." Irritation darkens his face. "Persephone and Hades have blessed you."

For fuck's sake. Can he go literally a week without some god meddling in his business? "What does that mean?"

His irritation drains away to thoughtfulness, looking Percy over in a way that makes his spine itch. "I don't really know, to be honest. Neither of them have ever done this before."

Hello??? Have you considered that maybe Krit is genuinely trying to process trauma? He got told, TO HIS FACE, by HIS FATHER, that he is abnormal. I found his reaction to be actually so realistic, because when faced with homophobia, especially from your supposedly loved ones, queer people that are not out tend to question everything, even themselves and their right to happiness. Krit legit had to go on autopilot mode during the breakup scene because that's how you react in the face of trauma!!! Bro was trying to survive this shit

Also, please pay attention to the show you're watching because 1) he did stand his ground in front of his dad, literally coming out to him 2) he is good at communication, we've been shown this since the beginning of the show, and when he isn't, he takes responsibility and apologises right away 3) one of the first things we learn about Krit in this show is that he is a single child and basically an investment to his parents, his dad raised him to be an extension of himself, not an actual individual: do you realise how much work and mental struggle Krit has to go through to slowly unlearn that? This is the work of years in therapy, it cannot be resolved in the span of 9 episodes or by 🌟the power of gay love🌟 only

I love that we are taking time with this breakup and that the conflict isn't resolved in 20min. Gives the characters time to breathe and grow independently.
