First costume of 2020. I used Angela Clayton's McCalls 7988 pattern for an 1840s style dress. This took me a week to sew. I already plan to make a few minor changes to it but it was photo shoot ready in only a week. I also created a poke bonnet out of a straw hat and extra trims. I used soft pastels, bright blues, and lacy trims to create a colorful feminine fairy look.

So I made my own version of The Child. I couldn't wait for official merchandise and I used to make plush animals as a business about 8 or 9 years ago. I felt very inspired. I love how this turned out and right now I am a little disappointed with what Disney has released for preorders. The photos of the official plush are vague, there is a notice that the one you get might vary from the photo (it's a prototype?) The robe cannot be removed and I suspect that the robe is sewn shut around the "feet" if there even are feet. The public fever to have one is so insane that Disney was forced to rush the production and make something half-assed that you still can't even own until May. I am sure they will be nice enough to shut everyone's kids up, but I would prefer to own something more "doll like" even if it costs more. And especially if it makes adorable noises.
And no, I will not sell this little guy, I made him for the challenge, the fun, and the Friday morning cuddles while we watch the show.
