Connor thought heâd had a handle on the whole parental thing, but it turned out that newborns were a whole different ball game then miraculously well-behaved teenager foster children. Connor was pretty sure he wasnât going to sleep more than three hours in a row for the next five years or so. As such, he had managed to fall asleep on the table right next to the overly-sugary coffee drink and giant cookie he had just purchased himself. At least until he heard a sudden noise and quickly startled himself awake. âWoah!â he exclaimed, sitting up quickly and looking around, âWhat was that? Is everything alright?â
âHey,â Sara gently nudged the sleeping guy. Was he a student? An overly tired barista? She felt bad when he woke up with a shock. âSorry, I didnât mean to startle, your coffee was about to fall.â She pointed at the coffee cup that she had replaced further away from him, while holding hers on her hand along with a muffin in a paper bag. âAre you alright?â she felt the need to ask seeing how exhausted the other looked.
