film survey! thank you to @bloodstaineddeer for tagging me
last film you watched in the cinema?
i saw obsession (2025) with one of my good friends last monday. it was incredible and definitely worth the hype
film that always makes you cry:
dead poets society (1989). “i was good. i was really good.” YEOUCH
film you know every single word to:
coraline (2009). i know we all despise n*il g*iman but this was my favorite movie as a kid that i watched on repeat so unfortunately i know practically the entire script by heart now
favorite 2000s teen movie:
probably jennifer’s body (2009) for thematic reasons but mean girls (2004) has a place in my heart
most embarrassing guilty pleasure film:
gotta be just about any of the twilight movies. i know it’s not really embarrassing to like them anymore but i think people assume i wouldn’t be into them because i like “high-brow” vampire media… guys i deserve some teen romance vampire slop too
film that changed your life:
the addiction (1995). such an interesting take on vampirism and the philosophy of addiction. it was one of those movies that had me thinking about my purpose as corny as that sounds
favorite movie theatre snack:
i’m a basic bitch but you just can’t beat buttered popcorn </3
“in solitude, i felt the liberty you speak of, but i also felt your absence.” — portrait of a lady on fire (2019) let’s go lesbians!!
the most overrated film ever:
don’t hate me but call me by your name (2017). aside from just finding it kind of boring, i don’t think the age gap was handled very well despite the director’s best efforts and it becomes abundantly clear that that’s a fundamental issue with the story when you consider the original book’s author spoke about the story as if its age gap was just a harmless taboo to be explored rather than how seriously it actually should’ve been handled.
first movie you remember ever seeing in theatres:
probably inside out (2015). i’m sure i saw others before this but this is the one i have vivid memories of seeing with my family
horror, comedy, or romance?
horror! it hits the hardest the most consistently for me. comedy rarely really lands for me unless it’s specific to my niche sense of humor and romance gets a little boring after a while :P
ultimate top 10 favorite movies of all time (in no particular order):
portrait of a lady on fire (2019)
the rocky horror picture show (1975)
a bride for rip van winkle (2016)
eyes without a face (1960)
dead poets society (1989)
