“You think so? That might just be one of the weirdest compliments I’ve ever gotten Tor, but thanks, I’ll take it. You can trust me not to tell on you for anything. Alright, alright, so maybe I’ve caught a marathon or two all stoned while nothing else was on before. You got me. I’m down for it, though, I weirdly enjoy the fake reality TV kind of drama. Just rather not have any of my own.”

“Totes. I’m sure you’ve gotten way weirder compliments than that, but I’ll take that. I was hoping so, if my dad somehow found out. He’d call my mom and then I would never hear the end of it. I knew it. You totally do the poses so I figured as much. TV drama is honestly the best and only drama I need, so I feel.”

“I don’t know but I’m serious, so just give me a little bit of credit!” he teased. “Plus I can prove it, let me take you to grab some food or something.” He nodded his head at her next words. “Oh yeah, that’s exactly it. I’ll bet your little human crane—or a stool.” 

“Okay, okay...but we’re going as friends.” Tori perked her brows, lips curved in a timid smile. “For sure not stepping on you, but you can lift me. So a crane, yes. I’m not sure how my mom will take it that a boy is living with us but I guess she’ll have to suck it up, her fault for making me short with her genetics, right?” 

Addison: I just need like one friend and then this place won't suck.

Addison: Shit, sorry. Ignore that.

Tori: i feel like that a lot, stranger.

“I might’ve been, but not if you’re going to call me Mr. Manning. Make me sound like some creepy teacher- or worse, my dad. I guess if you told on me I’d probably deserve it. I’m definitely an expert. Oh yeah, I’m familiar wih smize-ing. I’m all about that ‘hoe… but then make it fashion’ lifestyle. Trust me, I know what I’m talking about.”

“Ew, no way. You wouldn’t be the creepy teacher, you’d totally be the cute one that all the girls wishes they could date. Trust me, you could probably spill a novel to my dad so I’ll keep it a secret. Oh my god, I love you. You’re so fab. We need to have a marathon, because you’ve obviously seen more than an episode or two.”

“of course it will. most models are idiots anyways if that helps. they obsess over their bodies and it isn’t healthy. see you just gotta look at it from that point of view!”

“I wish I could argue with you but, like, they start so early that they don’t get to study properly...Okay, I mean, you have a point. I can never turn down poutine so I would struggle.”

eli laughed. “well you are down on yourself over something that isn’t even important. who cares if you walk a runaway?” he questioned. “you could be a huge star, way better than a stupid shallow model.” he pointed out. 

She gave him a shrug, arms crossing over her chest. “I guess sometimes you just get caught up in childhood dreams, but I should totally focus on the other one. The more achievable one since height isn’t too important in acting.” Tori flashed him a grin, “You write, I act. Deal?”

I’m sure you’ll be able to find something much more fulfilling to spend your life doing. 

Thanks for the support Katie. I’m sure you’re right, but I’m still going to eat this brownie while I pout over it for a bit.

Why wouldn’t you get to walk the runway? I can guarantee that they don’t have a policy about short girls being models? If they do that’s sucky and you should protest. Yeah, that must suck, but hey the good thing is you don’t have to worry about most guys or girls being shorter than you for when you want to date them.

I don’t think it’s exactly a rule, but you’re way less likely to get a job if you’re under five foot eight. True, but I’m not worried about dating right now anyway- there are more important things.

“Oh my god, Terri, you’re like literally the sweetest. I just wish I could either walk in six inch heels or get a little bit taller, you know? But one I’ll break my ankle in and number two is impossible.”

“there is so much more you could do with your life. you are talented!” eli commented. “you shouldn’t focus on not being able to be daft and focus more on being degrassi’s leading star.” he pointed out.

“Mr. Director coming out of the woods to give me more compliments. You’re going to give me a huge ego, and I love it. I’ll make sure to write you down on my future resumes when I become famous.”

If your biggest disappointment in life is that you can’t be a runway model, I’d say you have a decent life. 

I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s my biggest disappointment, but it’s up there. I guess it could be worse, though it’s still a pretty crummy feeling.

“you have a pretty face, tor. plus i have seen you acting you have nothing to worry about. slap on some heels and keep on trucking.”

“Thanks, Miles. I guess making it on the big screen, or broadway even, would be better than modeling anyway. After like age 30 you get way less jobs, unless you’re Tyra Banks.”

“What, are you saying you’re not qualified on looks alone if height were a thing those people would overlook? Because I’m gonna have to disagree there. And yes I have seen an episode of Top Model or two, so I clearly I know what I’m talking about as an expert over here.” 

“Are you flirting with me, Mr. Manning? I’m going to have to tell Joey. I’m kidding. But thank you, at least you believing I could surpass the rule makes me feel a tad better. Oh, ho ho, look at you go. Craig, the Top Model expert.”

I mean, I understand the second one definitely. My body type isn’t built right for me to be a model though. I’ve always wanted to sing. 

Girl, please. Your body is perfect, I would kill to look like you. I hate having to stand on chairs to reach things. You can sing? I’m totes not gonna be that person that asks you to sing something for me, at least not yet.
