Hello everyone! We have an update for you on today's unscheduled maintenance.

At approximately 14:00 server time today, March 31st, we detected an attempted cross-site scripting (aka, XSS) attack. The site was put into an unscheduled emergency maintenance out of an abundance of caution, so that we could perform a thorough audit to ensure the security of the site and everyone's accounts.

While we continue to audit all possible areas of the site, we will remain in an emergency 'curtains down' maintenance. The Mistral Jamboree will be extended by however many hours we have to keep the site down as a result of this attempted attack.

The account in question is FaronFox #6044. They have 12 progenitors, which can be located with the lair search option. Normally, players can’t trade, sell, or give their progens to other players, so how did they all get there? A number of them are named “Test” and have the same colors, which may be a indication this is a test account created by an administrator or site developer. Another strange thing, they have -7 (negative seven) lair slots.

You can also visit their only friend, Landreu #4010, who owns 4 progenitors. They have several friends on their friend list as well, including RowanWuff 4346 with 29 progenitors. Much like FaronFox, they have many progens with the same color, and have “Tester” in their account bio.

I looked around a little more, though couldn’t find any more lairs with over two progenitor dragons or with other strange qualities. I was not around during beta testing, I joined on the first anniversary, but perhaps there was an exploit or glitch that allowed players to create more than one progen, or trade progens with other players? Beta players, I need your insight!
