For a mini brief, l have been creating a logo a day for the past 3 weeks. I set myself ground rules by giving my self 5 minutes for each logo to sketch some quick designs. Then i gave my self 30 minutes on the computer to create the logo. Its essentially to increase my times on designing to help when it comes to industry.
Comments in the image. Images on there own lost resolution, so l screen shotted my pdf page.
Some development of how the webpage would look. This is also the same fo the facebook posts. The idea being S3 would post songs that everyone knows and are more relatable than others, for people to comment and maybe interact with their experience of that particular song.
With the development, i hit the nail on the head quite quickly. The top logo is the final development. It links perfectly with the original logo and also portrays how music is memory with the turntable inside the brain. The brain shap is just an original 2D shape with more waved edges than l was expecting to work.

For the drawings l wanted just a 2d brain to then have a relatable music part within it. Something like a musical note i tried but it would make the brain small when on other content. IM going to try the mockups of the brain as a turntable for the centre or inside the brain.
So looking at more brain logos, its made me realise that l need some link back to the SIDE THREE brand. So the drawings im going to do will include the S3 brand in some way. Whether it is just the record arm or turntable. Maybe use similar stylings to the S3 logo.
So for the identity of the campaign l immediately thought of using a brain, due to the association with the campaign name ‘Music is Memory’ It was the only proper thing l could think of that relates to memory. Looking at research its made me think about how detailed l want it to be, l really dont want a brain thats detailed like the centre one as i feel the focus should be music but hinting about ‘memory’ with the brain. Im going to look at a few more to see what others l can find for inspiration
As far as the stencil goes l want just a plain stencil. The original idea was to design it so people could write on when they post to social media and the website but l felt there is no point. As you would take an image it would blur out as it will be in the foreground. So not detail would be picked up. For that reason l have just gone with a black stencil in the logo shape to keep some continuity. Also because it is pocket sized that a mini leaflet with instructions could be helpful to house the stencil.
My idea l have come is a campaign where people will share the personal experiences with music. The idea being they would post images to the website for people to see. The images they post can be anything from an object to a person but it has to remind them of a song. Its going a long the ideas of how music triggers memories and when people here specific songs it reminds them of something. So i want to create some sort of base where people can share these images and experiences. I think that seeing a load or random things would be interesting to see what they mean to people.
With the images im thinking of including like a template that you take a picture through. Maybe include it with the vinyl or something they can download.

It is easy to forget that behind top artists is a record label, and that record label has a marketing department and PR teams which employ managers and directors to conceive witty ways to convince …
Even though they are more about promoting the music, they are nice ideas making the artist a brand. Some Guerilla advertising could be a good idea but its all about how serious l want the company to be. If maybe its subtle but i’m unsure about how or what to do.
PledgeMusic provides fans and artists the opportunity to work together to make new records and raise money for charity. By combining new social networking technology, old school music biz know how and an irresistible menu of exclusive incentives, fans can visit the site to hear great new music, enjoy and share unique experiences with the artists they love and actively participate in the release process.
Would be good to have some sort of base where people can go to see new and updates about anything vinyl or record related maybe.
If you use the Internet, then you are probably familiar with the music industry’s woes. However, while revenue has been damaged by piracy and sharing, it’s never been easier for small, independent artists to gain exposure and a global following. Crowdfunding has emerged to fill the money gap for artists who have followings but not … read more

Durex, the Reckitt Benckiser condom brand, launched Performax Intense in the UK in the lead up to Valentine’s Day 2012 with “In Sync”, a television and interactive advertising campaign. The TV ad shows two turntables, one male, one female, each playing Marvin Gaye’s track “Let’s Get It On” at different speeds. Slowly, with encouragement, the …
Nice campaign idea from Durex. Im trying to find similar campaigns that use music or records. I want to create something that share peoples experience with music.
