Thanks for your kind comments on my last post! Drawing what’s around me has been helping so far, so we’re continuing that. Lately I’ve been frustrated by pests like mealybugs (which haven’t spread at least...yet) and applying treatment, fingers crossed it won’t kill the plant, especially in the case of my carnivorous bogs which are battling spider mites. It’s literally thankless work sometimes, but usually worth it. I’ve found myself dissociating a lot recently with the barrage of news. I’m grateful a friend of mine helped me articulate this symptom of anxiety, where my thoughts were fixated elsewhere while I went through the motions. Drawing usually helps any kind of anxiety I have, and when trying to ground myself I chose to sketch some of my plants. My plants help me focus when I am overwhelmed by depression or anxiety: they are low maintenance, but have basic needs that get me up when nothing else will. I have a project I’m hoping to launch soon, but it’s still in the works.
