For this weeks illustration I did it completely analogue. I started out by sketching the cup out on paper with pencil I then filled it using water colour. When It was finished I brought it into photoshop and removed the paper background that it was painted onto and replaced it with a textured background. Using this method was a little more difficult because its very hard to fix mistakes with water colour, and the details in the cup were too small so perfect. Even with the challenge of that I'm very happy with how it turned out

For this weeks illustration, I created a cup that looks like pieces of felt sewn together. I started the process by drawing out the cup on paper then I scanned it and live traced it in illustrator. I then brought the file into photoshop and used a felt layer style, I altered it piece by piece so each piece has a different effect. It took a while to figure out how to make it all blend together instead of looking like a cut pattern plopped on top of the image. After all the tweaking I'm quite happy with the outcome. 

For this project, I wanted to create an image that somewhat mimics cut out coloured paper layered on top of each other. I began by drawing out the outlines of the cup in illustrator. I arranged the layers so that when I created shadows they would fall into the correct parts. I then filled them in with colours and brought them into photoshop where I created the shadows and textures. I really like how this turned out I think it makes a really unique image and I hope to use it in some of my other illustrations

Selena Gomez There's been a lot of negative or shallow news surrounding Selena Gomez recently. She's one of the most closely watched people especially by the younger generations. Recently she has shared her journey with battle with lupus. I struggle alot with drawing portraits usually. For this I used adobe draw on my tablet using a small picture for reference after I drew the outlines I brought it into photo shop and filled it in

For this weeks drawing, i used a painting that I did a while ago. Its an abstraction of a painting by Michaelangelo. The composition is done with circles. I really like the brightness and contrast of the colours.

For this drawing, I wanted to challenge myself a little bit more. I found myself using my tablet a lot because I find it easier to use and it still transfers to illustrator as a vector image. I'm still struggling to draw on my computer a little bit, especially with the pen tool. So for this drawing, I did it completely with the pen tool

I was a little stumped as to what to draw this week a friend of mine said I should try a visual pun like “red seal chef”, So I did that. I did the outline of this drawing on my tablet on adobe draw then I brought it into photoshop and experimented with some new free photoshop brushes I got. 

I'm really enjoying doing drawings on my tablet and transferring them to my computer to finish. For this illustration, I drew different kinds of flowers and greenery on my tablet on adobe draw. When I transfer them onto my computer theyre vector images so they were quite large. Originally I was going to duplicate the drawings and put a lot of the flowers around the words but when I put a couple flowers on the file they were quite large and overlapping but I like how it looked so I went with it. When colouring I used a floral based colour palette I found on Pinterest.

For this week's drawing, I based it off a picture sitting on the couch in our living room. From the photo, I did a couple of black line drawings for things around the room. When I uploaded the file from my tablet the lines got a little bit messed up. I kind of liked the messy look against the strong geometric shapes so I made the rest of the image using the pen tool in illustrator. I'm really happy with the final product.

Week 4 illustration 2 A while ago I promised my friend that I would draw a picture of him for his birthday. Life got a little busy and I hadn't gotten around to doing so I thought this would be a good opportunity. I've always struggled with drawing people so I decided to use a tablet to draw because I figured it would be easier to fix mistakes. I used lots of layers so I could go back and switch between layers and that seemed to help a lot. The colouring in took a lot longer than I thought so I only managed to get a little bit done but I think I got it off to a good start.

This is a pie drawing that I did using my computer. I used some photoshop watercolour paint brushes to make it a little more interesting. I did this one using the illustrator pencil tool and I found it a lot more difficult to work with but it was a little easier to make changes than on a drawing tablet.

Week 3 illustration 2 For this drawing I used my tablet as well. This one was a quick drawing where I put one song on repeat and used it for my inspiration. For this drawing g I tried my best to draw what immediately came to my head and limited myself by not using the undo button. I limited the amount of time I could use as well. When the song repeated about 3 times that gave me about 6 minutes of drawing time. Song used: strings by young the giant

For the past couple weeks, I used mainly pen and ink so this week I switched it up and went digital. For this drawing, I used my tablet and the Adobe draw app. The fish was done with varying line weights and so was the stippling. When I was done I found the drawing was very plain so I brought it into photoshop and added blue bubbles from the fish's mouth.

I was studying with one of my friends when the idea for this weeks illustration came to me. He's studying forestry so there's lots of different plants and foliage involved in his studies. On one of the pages, there was a photo of a similar looking plant to this drawing. The way it was lighted gave it a semi-transparent quality. Every line in the leaf was visible. This drawing is an almost abstraction of those leaves. Using black ink pens and different line weights I made an almost skeleton effect. 

For this drawing, I went outside for inspiration. Since I live on campus it was almost impossible to not draw what surrounds the area. Bunnies. Since having a bunny stay still enough for me to draw it was nearly impossible, I did a quick sketch while watching it and got as much rough detail into a small area as I could. I started with a general outline of its head and eye. Then mapped out the direction of its hair growth since this determined the dimensions the drawing would take on. I then filled everything in with a black ink pen. 

This illustration is inspired by two random words and made into a single image. The light bulb replaces the pit of the Avacado. The image started as a light pencil sketch then painted with water colour. The image looked a little flatter than I would have liked so some thin lines with black pens gave the image a little more interest and depth.
