fandom isn’t some space where you can do whatever nor is it a space where you can actively disregard your fellow fans’ well being 

if you create content it’s your responsibility to be aware of what messages you’re putting out into the world and yeah you do have to deal with it if it’s damaging content 

if you create misogynistic content, it’s not policing when someone says your work is misogynistic 

if you create racist content, it’s not policing when someone says your work is racist 

and that’s just like super basic I would hope someone has learned to call that shit out shitty messages you can put into your content 

there are plenty of areas of grey and mires of shit you can get into but if you’re willing to say what you create for fandom is meaningful you have to take responsibility for whatever shit you create and step in and you need to be critical of what you do and what fandom trends you choose to be apart of 

have some respect for your work and fellow fans by not acting like someone just decided to shout at you when you stepped on their toes first 

plenty of sad and dark things are dealt with through creative content and maybe all you need to do so you don’t hurt somebody is tag

sometimes you need to realize that promoting or writing something in general is harmful to other fans and you need to not post or share your work publically

the things you create are not just fantasy things you put out on the internet and then have no affect on anyone and float about in a vacuum, they’re not fantasies if you’re sharing them as content, and they can hurt and offend others and you need to be aware of and responsible for the hurt you cause 

I was groomed online and in real life by multiple pedophiles when i was 10-14 years old. They used loli / shota porn and pedophilic ships (fanart, fics, etc) to tell me that it was normal and even good. Some of that media could have been created by survivor “just trying to cope” but that wouldnt make a damn difference. It took me until i was 17 years old to realize that it wasnt normal or good. because of shit like this.

If you draw or write about someone getting murdered you’re not murdering someone. Your work is not harmful to potential murder victims.

If you draw or write about a sexualized child you are actively sexualizing a child. Your work is harmful to children and you’re literally committing a federal crime.

Also I find it incredibly disturbing that you are apparently not disgusted by the concept of child porn and pedophilia but are against it from a legal/social perspective only. “I can separate fact and fiction!” doesn’t really apply (and you can’t by the way) because what you’re saying is “I’m against child porn in real life but I like the aesthetic of it”

which is pedophilia.

But when you romanticise Pedophila, incest, rape, or litteraly anything harmful, you are disgusting and you deserve every ounce of hate you get. If you fetishise people, race, trans people, gay/lesbian people, disabled people, or any marginalized group of people: you are extremely disgusting and you deserve to be called out.

There is no excuse to have sex involving any of these things. No excuse.

like I can see a predator watching how y'all justify minor / adult ships and feeling validated. they don’t just enact violence outside of the internet. they are real people who consume media just like you and me. those of you who ship children with adults share a space with actual predators

it’s also wild to me that y'all don’t think a pedophile could ever be an artist or writer. I guarantee you they are content creators you enjoy on social media. you’re giving them a space to safely express their interests and you validate their inclination to hurt real children when you promote “hebephilia” as healthy. every time you say “the technical definition of pedophilia is 13 years old and younger”, some adult freak feels better about being attracted to a 14 year old. saved by the bell huh!

you’re harboring actual predators, making them feel great about themselves, giving them a platform in fandom & the ability to harass minors into silence with that platform. it isn’t just desensitizing kids, it’s also desensitizing predators
