Question from someone who knows very little about HDG, but does something like "Sophont Auxiliaries" exist? (Aka those who actually enjoy fighting and support the Affini, so the Compact can send them out on missions and patch them up better than they were when they left if they get injured?)
I'm far from an expert, but I don't believe so. The Affini don't really see domestication campaigns as warfare afaik, and they would never put their pets in any danger. I'm sure they involve sophonts of domesticated species in pr/outreach programs though.
