"Come now, Tomoe-kun. Can't one be in a good mood?" he laughed while approaching closer to the other, sensing his slight annoyance and exhaustion. "...Hmm? Is there something bothering you?" Mizuki asked honestly because he was truly curious on the matter, although it was his mission to annoy the fox familiar today; it seems that something else has gotten ahead of him.

"Really, Nanami-chan? We get to do something together today?" Mizuki asked with a hopeful voice, placing special emphasis on "we" to make sure that fox yokai wouldn't ruin his alone time with his master.

"What are we doing today~? Are we going shopping? Or are we going to some new place?" The snake familiar continued to offer suggestions rapidly, growing giddy seeing that he has the chance to leave the shrine with the girl and learn more about this... strange modern world.

At hearing such noble words coming from the snake familiar, he cast an unsurprised expression on his face and proceeded to stare at the white haired demon. Seemingly not being able to come up with anything else to say, the king muttered, “Sucks to be you.”

He sniffed, breaking his gaze at last.

“Besides, I don’t understand what that little god sees in that stupid fox anyway. That’s a pity that you’ve already given up. I would have thought you a more suitable mate for the land deity.”

At this point, he couldn't care less at what the Dragon King said about his conflictingfeelings. He noticed him staring directly at him, but he casted his eyes downward, avoiding the other's gaze. There was silence for a while, and Mizuki wondered if the Dragon King would say anything at all.

He did make a small comment, and all he could say in reply was, "Yeah... It kind of does sucks to be me now." His next words surprised him for sure though, the snake familiar never knew the other felt this way about the arrangement between his master and that fox.

"Do... you really mean that? I would have made a better mate?" He asked, with hope shining in his eyes.

Today was one of the days where Nanami had a day off from school, and Mizuki was currently enjoying his time under the kotatsu, along with her. It was nice, basking in the warmth, while staring at whatever program that was on the television together. The keyword was together, and if his master wasn't here, it would be very lonely...

He took his eyes of the TV for a moment to glance outside the window, when suddenly... A white dot landed on the glass! The snake familiar thought it was some bird that had decided to leave a present at first, but when he saw more fall down and pile up into a fluffy mess onto the ground, his mind quickly realized it was snow!

Mizuki turned around and nudged his master, "Nanami-chan, Nanami-chan!" He cried out in an ecstatic voice.

"Look, it's finally snowing~"
