During the morning session he was able to complete a total of 71 laps.

“One last push here in Sakhir, maximising these final laps before we move on with the proper Bahrain GP next week. Overall, it has been a good day, despite the red flag that disrupted the running a bit but I enjoyed every single lap in the car today. We tested a lot of different configurations to collect as much data as possible. The car seems to be in a decent place and I’m proud of the work that the team has done to complete such a solid test programme.”

“Last final push today and last few laps in the car before we go to the first race, it was again another good day. (…) I was enjoying every single lap that I did today, I tested a lot of different configurations in the car to get as much information as possible. And in the end, I think we concluded what we need to run for the first race. And how the car is working.”

During the afternoon session he was able to complete a total of 84 laps.

“Another day of testing completed according to plan and without issues. We managed to go through the whole afternoon programme smoothly, combining various tests with low and high fuel runs, so it was interesting to get a feel for this year’s car in different configurations. Now I look forward to the last session tomorrow morning where we’ll keep focusing on the long runs.”

“I Think it was a really good day for the team because we did the program as expected. We did some long runs, too. We started to play around with the car and it was a good test day. Honestly we covered everything that we wanted and we had a good first day.”

During the afternoon session he was able to complete 69 laps.

“It’s been a positive first day of testing here in Bahrain with 373 km completed. We managed to go through the whole programme without issues, gathering some useful data to better understand the SF-24 together with the engineers. As usual with pre-season testing, it's too early to draw any conclusions yet, so we'll keep maximising the upcoming two days of running to get ready for the start of the season next week. It felt good to be back properly behind the wheel after the winter break.”
