Michael captured plated dishes and restaurant details at Anchovies Bar, Iru, El Centro, Oleana, and Windsor Dim Sum Café, offering an intimate look at the creativity and culinary excellence shaping Boston’s historic dining landscape.

Adam Birkan traveled to Laos to photograph Khamphat Paneboun for The Economist feature “The Deported,” written by Timothy McLaughlin. The article examines the deportation of Paneboun, a Texas father of four, and his life after being detained and removed from the United States following a routine immigration check-in.

In Vientiane, Laos, Adam spent a day with Paneboun in his new home and neighborhood on the city’s rural outskirts. Paneboun, a former child refugee whose family resettled in America over 30 years ago, had never left the United States before his deportation to Laos, a country he had never been to.

Adam’s photographs ground the piece in Khamphat Paneboun’s lived reality. Moving through neighborhood streets and quiet interiors, his images reveal the tension of a life caught between two places. With a documentary approach, Adam captures the daily rhythms and place that shape Paneboun’s life away from his family in America.

Scott Slusher captured new imagery for Turtlebox Audio with cowboys and ranchers in Rockwall, Texas. Scott documented the hard work and light moments that bring people together, all set to a cowboy’s score on Turtlebox’s portable speakers.

Michael traveled to Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolates in Goshen, Connecticut, where he documented Kimberly and Clint Thorn crafting small-batch chocolates using milk from their own herd of cows. Michael’s photography for the story highlights the family at work—from the barn to the creamery—capturing the warmth, tradition, and handmade care that define the farm.

Adam Birkan captured the aftermath of the 2025 Putra Heights pipeline fire in Malaysia for Airbnb.org, the hosting platform’s non-profit organization. Shooting still photography alongside a video production team,  Adam documented the explosion’s destruction and lasting impact on families, as well as the ongoing community response efforts. Following local Superhosts, the project highlights the recovery efforts and free emergency housing made available in the wake of the disaster.
