i was wondering about stan's car since i think its likely teen!stan got it quite a while before his senior year considering his post graduation plan was to sail away asap, and some of the 15 y/os in the show have their own car so i'm guessing that he got it at around that age too

but if you assume stan is around 60, he would've been 15 in 1967-ish, meaning the el diablo would've still been really pricey even if stan got it secondhand

(i know some folks would jump to the conclusion of him stealing it cos it's stan but i doubt he was at the level of chaos to then officially register a stolen car to himself just to get a personalised plate lmao hotwiring a hippie's van to crash it into a ravine is a different story)

...and then i finally noticed the giant goddamn crack above the front right wheel that's mostly fixed during the present day

so now i'm hc-ing that a guy who's somehow an infinitely worse driver than stan totaled it in an instant and stan ended up getting it for dirt cheap

+ it had those weird circular dents on the trunk back when he was a teen too!
