Tomely Reminder (Closed-Ā Sylvia)

āOh, me?Ā Pfft, Iām fine.āĀ Sylvia flapped her hand to wave away his concerns.Ā Ā āIāve done much more intensive running before.Ā I mean, one time I was being chased by Hell Hounds and I had to vault a tall wall.Ā That sure was adrenaline pumping.āĀ She plopped onto the ground next to him and folded her legs into a crossed position.
āAnyway, we can talk as much as you want.Ā I was just going to go for a walk; I didnāt really have anything important to do.Ā Iād much rather talk to someone about magic anyway.āĀ She leaned in closer and lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.Ā Ā āI donāt like talking about it around non-magic people much because they get a little weird about it.Ā At least in my experience.Ā Ask too many questions they canāt possibly understand and then uhāāĀ Despite the other being a magic user, she wasnāt entirely sure she wanted to bring her specialty up yet.
āWell, I just try to avoid it.āĀ She leaned back out again and flipped the book to a random page.Ā Ā āOh, this spell is interesting.Ā It turns your food or drinks different colors.Ā I used it to make Easter eggs when I was younger, but it also works for other occasions where funny colored food would be interesting.Ā You save a lot of money on food dye thatās for sure.ā
āOh, and before I forget.Ā My nameās Sylvia.ā
Laurent let the matter drop when the maiden waved away his concerns (due in part to his laid-back nature) but still! He couldnāt help being worried when someone seemed that exhausted. It was best to pace oneself and take regular breaks (that included delicious food, hopefully) if running a distance, after all. Thoughts aside, the other times sheād ran along holding heavy tomes sure sounded...like something.
Very similar to many times at home heād had to fight for the sake of all he held dear, but that was something heād keep to himself.Ā āIf youāre alright with talking a long time - some folk tend to tell me when Iām excited that I have a tendency to strain their ears a bit, and I certainly donāt intend on being an annoyance. That being said - Iām glad that speaking of magic makes you feel more comfortable in such a curious environmentĀ as this.āĀ
If it reassured and made folk feel relaxed, it was a good thing!Ā āHm...so non-magic users tend to be a little oblivious here? Curious...itās not like that back home - we lived in harmony with folk that were not mages and they assisted us in our weak points.ā Why was it different in this realm, he wondered?
The speak of a spell that changed foods different shades was distracting, however.Ā āOh? Thatās a spell that Iāve never heard of - did it make food taste even better than before? It might be a good way to assist others in a magical, food related way! Oh...Iām rambling a little there, my apologies. My nameās Laurent. It is nice to meet you.ā
