No Taylor Swift No Sae's Life

Writing, rehearsing, directing and shooting the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” was the thrill of a lifetime because I got to be reunited with my Eras Tour family!! I wanted each one-take scene to feel like a live performance and remind us all of how it felt to be at those shows together. Making every moment count. It’s a journey through the chaotic world of show business. I loved working with Rodrigo Prieto, Ethan Tobman and Mandy Moore to dream up these visuals. 1.The Fate of Ophelia

Likely inspired by the tragedy of Ophelia from Hamlet. I can see Taylor portraying the duality of a star who shines brightly in front of an audience while privately falling apart. The visual homage to Ophelia sinking underwater (already featured on the album’s main cover art) hints at both glamour and isolation being central to the narrative.

2.Elizabeth Taylor

An homage to the former Hollywood queen. Probably exploring the struggles of a powerful and beautiful woman who paid the price for fame. Elizabeth was famously known for her violet eyes, which connects to the eye-colored charm included in the deluxe edition 👁️. With the shared name “Taylor” and Elizabeth’s history of scandals, I imagine Taylor will draw parallels between stardom’s glory and its hidden pain.

3.Opalite

Opalite symbolizes love and purification, and it carries deep personal meaning for Taylor:

① As a bullied teen, she once said she found comfort staring at opals after school.

② It’s also Travis’s (her current boyfriend/NFL star) birthstone.

③ Their close friend Keleigh Sperry gifted Taylor a ring set with both Travis’s opal and Taylor’s blue topaz (her birthstone).

Altogether, this track feels like it could represent Taylor’s healing and renewal since meeting Travis.

4.Father Figure

There’s speculation this could be a nod to George Michael’s Father Figure. George, a gay man facing public scrutiny in 1980s Britain, sang from the perspective of a man deeply devoted to his partner. As a long-standing LGBTQ ally, Taylor might explore themes of equal love and empathy here.

5.Eldest Daughter

Track 5 is always the emotional gut-punch. This one may deal with the weight of being the eldest daughter—responsibility, resilience, and the deepened family bond she’s formed through the Eras era and her parents’ health struggles. It could be this album’s The Best Day 💛.

6.Ruin the Friendship

Given the timing, it might touch on her fallout with longtime friend Blake Lively. (Context: the director of Blake’s film It Ends With Us claimed Taylor pressured Blake to accept script changes, even filing a subpoena before later dropping it.) The title points to a personal fracture.

7.Actually Romantic

“Actually romantic!” — probably sarcastic. Could contrast dreamy ideals with the messy realities of love. Or, it might reflect her whirlwind dates with Travis across Europe during the tour. Hard to pin down, but intriguing.

The dollar sign makes me think of the masters dispute—Taylor’s six stolen albums being resold at absurd value. Feels like a commentary on ownership and exploitation.

9.Wood

On the Showgirl podcast, fans noticed a Pinocchio figurine in Travis’s home. Pinocchio, made of wood, symbolizes fabrication and illusion — themes that may tie directly into the album’s larger message.

10.CANCELLED!

Such a bold title. Possibly referencing her cancelled 2024 Vienna show due to terror threats. Or maybe it’s a critique of cancel culture itself. The use of British English spelling could tie it to her European Eras experiences.

11.Honey

Most likely a love song 🍯. Taylor has even called Travis “Honey” before. A softer, sweeter moment on the tracklist.
