unpopular opinion:

matt and jessica are wayyy more suited towards each other than matt and emily or jess and mike. and here’s why i believe that:

matt and jessica are the youngest of the group, both in high school compared to the rest of the group who are college aged.

they both deserve better than what they have. emily is clearly just using matt as a rebound and is still in love with mike, mike just got out of a relationship with emily and wants to have fun. not to mention mike is lowkey kinda manipulative (he uses the same line on both hannah and jess to seduce them, “why don’t we start with making out”).

emily is just a nasty ahh towards matt and he deserves much better.

they just look cuter together.

the trauma they both experienced together is bound to create an unbreakable bond (whether that’s a good or bad thing… idk).

matt protected jess even though his own life was at stake and she was a liability. he could’ve easily just left her but instead he dedicated himself towards saving her.

jess needs someone mellow. mike is too outgoing and forward, which brings out the worst in her because she’s deeply insecure and will do anything to be accepted (ie: the prank, arguing with emily, sleeping with mike even though he just wants to get in her pants).

seperate rant… i love mike as a character but i hate the way he treats jess. sneaking off to meet emily and hug her is shady, they definitely didn’t “run into each other” considering they were talking in a group and emily suddenly “needed to go find sam”.

his honesty goes down every single time he compliments jess… almost as though he’s only saying what she wants to hear so he can get in her pants.

and idk man, i don’t think mike would’ve tried as hard to save jessica if he didn’t see her get snatched and falling down the mine.

sam and mike are nearly frostbitten from how long they spent searching in the snow. chris got his information from ashley, who bit her nails down to the beds overnight. the others could barely look him in the eye. josh can’t figure out if his headache is related to the hangover or the idea of his sisters, humiliated and alone, lost somewhere on the mountain without him.
