I imagine when he’s playing his diplomatic deceiver role he has basically no hard edges; no horns or exposed teeth, small skin-soft scales, kind of a thin long face, vaguely generic. And then when he dons his armor to go to war he’s basically putting on all the sharp edges that he filed down to be disarming. Or some shit like that idk lol I have a layman’s knowledge of lotr, hopefully these scuffed ass doodles get the idea across

Also I didn't know this series had comics and the official art style is kinda cracking me up, they're so gangly and humanoid lmao. I kinda dig it

fr though I really like the design, bubble-fox-dragon-serpent-thing is pretty damn unique. Also seems to be agreed upon that this monster turns into the Hottest Guy Alive when anthro-fied so I whipped out this messy ass sketch to follow along with that trend lol

I've reread them once or twice since then and they don't quite live up to the pedestal I put them on when I was a kid lol, but I still like em. Hope the show turns out better than the movie did
