a-Frame House
SketchUp, Lumion 6
When the A-frame house gained popularity on pinterest, I thought I’d give it a shot myself. This was mostly a practice for placing massive amounts of trees in Lumion.

Hey! I’ve been learning to use Blender! Here’s a little snippet of what I’ve been learning. I hope to be able to fully incorporate Blender into my skillset and use to further develop my architectural rendering.
Work-In-Progress: The Kyantina #4
SketchUp, Lumion 10
Note: I’ve decided to go with preset 1 from my previous post. It gives a warm look to the render and is very pleasant to look at. More tweaks to come, adjusting brightness and details.

Work-In-Progress: The Kyantina #3
SketchUp, Lumion 10
Note: I’ve upgraded to Lumion 10 and here are my very first testers. I totally in love even with the base look. It reminds me much of The Sims. There will be more experiments to come and look forward to it!
I’m upgrading!
After all the tweaks and changes I made, I am still unsatisfied with the end result of my rendering practice. I’ve gotten my hands on a few softwares to use and experiment with. Hopefully this will allow for a jump in quality by the next post!

Note: I tweaked the settings from the base to my liking while removing some that I felt made it look weird. Fixed the overexposure by reducing GI, exposure and shadow for most shots. I don’t know how the 3rd photo got that overexposed left side as I didn’t see it in the preview. I also warmed the shadow a slight bit as I felt they were too blue before (even for indoors standards).
A few more camera angles were added this time though I feel that not all needed the 2PP (It’s that 3rd photo again, pot look weird). I added the last detail shot to test for material close-up. It’s not bad.
Overall, life was breathed into these photos. They look more livable but still has an unnatural feeling to them. Going forward, I think I’ll keep working on the lighting.
Work-In-Progress: The Kyantina

Note: Using a preset list I found off the internet in hopes of achieving the desired look, I copied all settings except Sun without adjusting to render this. Overall it looks too washed out from overexposure but there are some details that I like and hope to keep, i.e.; the detail of the grain in the wood and floor tiles.
The leaves look undeniably fake and I haven’t found a way to make it better. (It’s from 3D warehouse and looks good in Sketchup.)
For now, I’m using this photo set as a base idea for my next render until I am satisfied.
Welcome to Sabrina’s Work-In-Progress.
Here I will post all my wips and completed works in an effort to further better myself for future projects. It also my hope that my works will allow me to showcase my talent and remind me to always keep practicing.
