i've written fanfiction for the last thirteen years or so, but i haven't published any in a looooong time. my hyperfixation on project hail mary made me start sharing my work again!

i'm currently writing a series of smut fics exploring grace and rocky's exophilia and an angst-heavy smut series in which simon believes he needs to give grace something in return for his generosity. i'd love to eventually branch out into grace/rocky/adrian and simon/grace/rocky works!

i’m specifically imagining a scene where grace is decidedly In Charge. adrian acts like a sort of proxy for him; they’re able to physically dominate rocky in a way that’s just not possible for grace. grace directs adrian to pin rocky down, spread his limbs, move him into whatever positions grace likes.

just imagine how overwhelming it would be for him to experience typical eridian sexual behaviors from adrian at the same time as the inherently kinky/taboo human sexual behaviors from grace. adrian singing to him, tapping his carapace, and stimulating his ventral seam while grace kisses/licks him and grinds on him. adrian could penetrate rocky (which i view as being Very kinky for eridians) while grace either fucks himself on a dildo or fucks a fleshlight (or both. godspeed grace).

grace experiences a loss of autonomy throughout the story. he's constantly out of control of where he goes, what he does, what he remembers. he is propelled through the narrative by forces outside of his control and that's terrifying.

he's also been burned for trying to stand up for himself before — speaking against an authority figure (in a rude, impulsive way) lost him a promising career. and then he forms some kind of close relationship with stratt, one where he's able to challenge her (demanding to keep astrophage samples, telling her to back off when guards want to search her, etc.) until she says he has to go on the mission and then suddenly his will doesn't matter anymore. (from his perspective!! i love you eva stratt)

i think stratt says it very well in the book — he "retreated to the safety of children who worship [him] for being the cool teacher". he finds comfort in being venerated. and that is absolutely a character flaw, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't translate to kink! kink is a safe space to explore one's flaws, to act on impulses that one shouldn't act on in everyday situations.

through dominance, grace can find a voice without fear of punishment. he can feel like he's in control of something. he can command adoration and respect and obedience from someone without that being his entire relationship with them.

anal sex wouldn't exactly be common where he's from. i just don't think that people have the supplies or time to prep someone properly; any anal had on eden would be dangerous and painful. simon, as a fighter who goes on missions outside of eden, can't risk being physically compromised like that. maybe he's topped anally before, but definitely not bottomed.

so the thought of bottoming is probably a bit scary to him. intimidating. but maybe it's something he's wanted for a long time but never had the opportunity to do, or maybe he wants to give this part of himself to grace because he's never been able to share it before. either way, he wants grace to top.

grace gets to blow his fucking MIND. he fingers simon open until lube is dripping down his thighs and just takes his time to explore what makes simon feel good. maybe he gets a little too scientist-brained about it and simon eventually has to beg to be fucked because grace is having too much fun just playing with him. simon might have been nervous when they started but now all he wants is for grace to fill him.

the only thing he's ever been praised for in his entire life is being the butcher. he's been in prison for who knows how long (if we're going off of game canon it's been 16 years, though i'm of the idea that the movie timeline is different; i think he's been there maybe a year max) and you Know he's spent his entire time in prison either being ignored/isolated or being berated for his past following of eden's teachings. he is very briefly told that he did good getting the sample from the skeleton while he's in the sm-13 and outside of that, he's largely yelled at, questioned, and treated as incompetent.

so what i'm saying is. obviously simon is touch-starved and friendship-starved but he's also praise-starved. and grace is a middle school teacher. he's used to praising kids for their smallest successes, building up their confidence and their trust in him.

when simon is first recovering from his injuries, grace constantly soothes him. simon manages to keep down food for the first time and grace tells him good job, you're doing so well. he takes his first few steps, wobbly from weakness and exhaustion and feeling off-balance without his arm, and grace coos that he's doing amazing, simon, i'm so proud of you. armando is changing his bandages one day and grace smiles and says that you're healing really well, you look so much better now. and simon eats that shit UP because he's never had praise given to him so freely before.
