Other than comedy, improv, acting, and whatnot my life revolves around space. I'm currently writing a musical called "Space", which isn't so much about space, but it gave me inspiration to write a story. Anyway, I have always told my friends (often on drunken nights) that landing on the Moon was the greatest achievement in human history. I stand by that belief sober-minded. Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were pioneers. They will be remembered by mankind in the same light as Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus (but regarded more highly for obvious reasons). Sure they were supported by the wealthiest nation in the world, but they not only had the balls to take on a mission like Apollo 11, they had the brains and physical ability to do so. They weren't just guys who were picked by a super power to prove its might. They were freaks who guided a ship to a world one-quarter of a million miles away and inspired scores of future brilliant minds. We lost one of them today. I wasn't even close to being alive when Apollo 11 landed, but nothing inspires me more. We shouldn't only remember Neil Armstrong as a pilot who guided an extraordinary mission. We should remember him as a pioneer and an inspiration.
