Moving On

she frowned. “win me back, jewoo.”

he smiled, taking her by the waist and pulling her against him, picking her up and wrapping her legs around his body. “it’d be my pleasure.”

“i will punch your tiny ass.”

“don’t touch my ass,  tae. that’s chae’s property.”

“we might have to break up. i don’t think i can handle a morning person.”

“we’ve been together two years, and this is why you want to dump me. nice.”

“um, fuck you. i’m so laid back.”

“too laid back.”

“so i’m special, then?”

“i mean, i’d say so.”

“let me be dramatic for once.”

“when are you not dramatic?”

“not nearly enough. you’re never up this early usually.”

“i know, but you know, i kind of like it. i might be a secret morning person.”

“oh, i’m so relieved.”

“you should be; mercy isn’t something i give away willy-nilly.”

“for foreign bagel bites? i might go bankrupt.”

“you’re well fucking off shut the fuck up.”

“you’re right. i probably am. you’re kind of a shit.”

“that’s no way to speak to the guy who just spent half an hour comforting you.”

“nice. bitchin’. you’re driving.”

“and you’re paying.”

“i should have guessed.”

“you really should have but i won’t hold it against you.”

“nope. i really want bagel bites.”

“fine, dumbass. let’s go to the store then.”

she nodded, pretzeling herself around him too and closing her eyes. “love you too,” she sighed, chewing on her lip. “you’re a good human being.”

“you may be the only person who thinks so, but i appreciate it. you’re so sweet. you’re going to be fine,” he assured her.

she bit her lip, burying her head into his chest and closing her eyes, hoping she wouldn’t start crying. “i love you. i’m sorry i’m being a buzzkill, baby.”

he deftly picked her up, carrying her to his couch and flopping down with her on top of him, wrapping himself around her tightly. “oh, shut up. i love you and you’re upset. i’m going to comfort you.”

“or how about we get some, and then we work non stop with full bellies?”

“you’re not going to drop this, are you?”
