Hey everyone! Face & ability reservations are now open! 

Here’s a little reminder of the rules

You can have two face and two ability reservations per person, no exceptions. If you have already completed the character questionnaire and gotten one of those reservations, you may only reserve once more.

If you reserve a canon, you can only have one additional reservation. Canons count (and you should all want one).

Rust & Bone is a actor/model only site. Keep that in mind while picking a face.

We have a character creation rule on Rust & Bone that puts a 25 post (plotting and threading) between creation, but we are going to be suspending that rule only for people who make reservations with us on tumblr. So, basically, if you reserve twice, your second character is a freebie. 

Also, please include your name. It makes our life easier.

Hey everyone, we wanted to share our Rust & Bone playlist with you guys to get you in the mood for the site opening (and reserves, of course). 

The 2007-2008 economic recession hit the economically and socially disadvantaged groups hardest. In the midst of their trouble, a group of young people formed and attempted to build a resistance movement, hoping to bring change to their situation. Though they initially worked with the nonviolent movement, a faction broke away in late 2015 and began a series of violent attacks as a means to an end.

The breakaway faction included preachers who had been working within grassroots to sway the disenfranchised youth of communities towards a radical new approach to politics. The group believed the methods used by nonviolent protesters were futile and that the political system needed to be dismantled in order to achieve their equality, meaning that working within the system wasn’t an option.

The group’s first public attacks (joint bombings in Manchester and London( killed 72 people and injured another 583. Following the attack, a media group affiliated with the movement put out a video of a group of six people wearing masks, claiming responsibility for the attacks. Two of the perpetrators escaped police crackdown and leaft the country, where they continue to radicalize through social media and from writings, which are put together from their base of operations in Ireland.

The movement dubbed itself “Liberation Soldiers” and has a grassroots foothold in several towns in the United Kingdom. They have a secret central operating base in London, where most of the movement’s members lived at different points in their lives and were discriminated against by higher ability classes, and a known operating base in a secret location in Ireland. The ideology of the group exploits the experiences of discrimination to alienate young people and make them more prone to attack by offering them a sense of belonging and meaning in life by giving up their lives for the cause.

The group prefers political violence such as assaults, kidnappings, assassinations, and bombings.

In June 2017, the group assassinated a prominent Sentinel MP. Two members of the Soldiers were arrested and sentenced to death in the first revival of capital punishment in the United Kingdom. This was exploited in LS propaganda to show their marginalization and mistreatment due to ‘lower class abilities and social status’ and the hypocrisy of the government for bringing back the death penalty.

The group largely consists of class C and class D abilities. Their numbers have grown since the government imposed curfew on those with C and D abilities, which is used as evidence of systemic discrimination and violation of lower class people’s rights. Members of the movement use this to call on others to join them.

Recently, the group has begun to encourage leaderless violence. “Amateaur” attacks are encouraged (also known as lone-wolf attacks), and Soldiers are asked to carry out operations in smaller groups, as it would be harder to intercept communication and track the cells. It is possible to be a member of the resistance without meeting anyone from the group personally, as most of the radicalization takes place online and offers toolkits for making bombs at home or how to carry out attacks.

In September of 2015, an Edinburgh speech by activist Eloise Clarke went viral. In it, she called upon the people to fight for the desegregation of the education, to fight against discrimination, and to fight for the most important thing of all - equality. Drive by the words of Clarke, many took to the streets in November 2015 and called for change all across the United Kingdom, their voices united and demanding reform.

It was a dark day for these marchers when the Anti-Discrimination bill failed on December 1st. While some rioted on the streets of London, other’s remembered the impact of the peaceful marches of November.

It was from those marches that the Equality Movement began. Behind their back, they are commonly nicknamed Butterflies or Flies for short from other resistance groups, as they have a policy of non engagement.

Inspired by the non violent movements from the past, the Equality Movement decided that the best way to make an impact was through peaceful protests. Eloise Clarke is both the figurehead and leader of the Equality Movement, and it is she who delegates what is to be done to others of the movement. Currently they have offices set up around United Kingdom with individual leaders responsible in spreading the message of equality through nonviolent protests and campaigns. At times, they will work unofficially with non confirmed members of the Whiskey Club to encourage unity amongst classes.

They have become known for occupying spaces that have been traditionally reserved for Class A people and filming the abuse they have endured at the hands of the Extraordinary State Defense Forces. Footage of their peaceful marches, sit ins, and other forms of nonviolent protests have become viral sensations, which have proven to be useful tools in spreading the message of equality. After all, it is through their pacifism that they hope to change the narrative that Class C and Class D people are inherently violent. Unfortunately, their pacifism has also earned the Directorate for State Security and a place on the DSS watchlist.

Following the emergency 2016 elections in which Sentinels took a massive parliamentary majority, a group of lawmakers concerned about the Sentinel approach to riots and resistance movements began discussions about the need for a new order. Members of the group consisted of people with class A and B abilities who believed their higher status in society gave them a platform to voice the concerns of the struggling class C and D abilities.

The group, lead by charismatic leader Winston Peters, first began to encourage politicians in government oppose Sentinel motions in parliament, but they were shut down without a parliament majority. Ideologically, this group of individuals are against the concentration of powers in Prime Minister, and those who can begin to have used their positions as minority MPs to disrupt parliamentary proceedings. In theory, the group set out to provide an alternative narrative to the one provided by Sentinels, speaking on media platforms about their objectives and goals for the resistance movement, knowing that because of their higher social status, they will not be persecuted immediately. Consisting mainly of highly educated and upper social classes, the group depends on their theoretic information to rebut the Sentinel’s decisions calling out moral dilemmas and contradictions.

The group occasionally consults the members of the non-violent resistance but prefers to push forward members of their group as face of the movement, arguing that people are already familiar with them and will likely to listen to what they have to say.

As the Sentinel government grew, this group expanded to include more people from within the government, taking in all those who wish to form an alternate narrative that morally opposes the government’s decisions but does not see the need for a fully fledged resistance movement. These are people with an upper class image and they do not want to get their hands dirty.

Main discussions are carried out over whiskey at high-class bars, and the group is unofficially referred to as Whiskey Club. The group’s comments on class C and D experiences has sparked controversy for failing to acknowledge their lived experiences and class struggles, and they are slightly unpopular for calling for other resistance groups to comply with government institutions and “work hard” to achieve the status they want.
