hey did you know the name Agnes means "pure" or "holy" and it's extremely similar to Agnus which means "lamb", usually referring to the Agnus Dei aka the sacrificial Lamb of God. Weird how the connotations can seem so similar even though they dont actually have the same definition. In fact the Irish word for lamb is also sometimes translated to the name Agnes because of the phonetic similarity, despite not being etymologically related.

hey do you ever think about how Agnes Montague was so close to perfect but couldn't quite live up to the messiah she was chosen to be. How she was defined by what the cult wanted her to be, their "lamb of god" as it were, despite not truly choosing that path in the end. How she burnt out, still convinced that she needed to try again to properly become the thing she was so close to being but not quite there
