Not gonna lie tho it actually did help a lot with my ocd/perfectionism because I can sometimes get very obsessive over minor physical details and those couple of months where I was presented with the idea of having a swimsuit pattern permanently etched into my skin really did force me to confront my inability to chill the fuck out

I think part of the reason Jax's arc falls on its face so badly is that hes "evil" in such a mundane way. Oh wow the guy with masculinity issues lives in an ironic hellscape of his own doing and hates women. You just described half of twitter and 80% of 4chan. It's really unpleasant to watch the equivalent of an incel in a bunny fursuit run around acting exactly like your most insufferable coworker.
