studio one reflection
Its come to this time of the semester where Iām scrambling to get my assignments done and smash out this final tumblr post for the year. First thing first, Studio one as a whole has been an overall very positive experience.Ā
Studio Core - I have always had a particular interest in branding and I was beyond the moon to be in Chrisā class where we were able to have creative freedom by choosing to create a hypothetical food festival. I chose to create a festival that lies within my own food passions, so ice-cream festival fit the criteria nicely. My knowledge grew learning about different aspects of brand identity, brand ideas and personality. I truly believe that the skills I was taught will serve me well for when I apply this to my industry practice.Ā
Studio Essentials - Although a huge task to do a brand identity refresh for Coles, I managed my time wisely. All aspects of this course were extremely beneficial to my practice. Through the proposal I was able to further understand the importance of a proposal and the relationship with the client. Through project management I was able to recognise how I can make managing a project fun and useful. However, most of the time I was just taking a punt when it came to hypothetical steps taken to complete the project. This was a challenge, however I believe I am on the right track.
Lectures - The lectures were always a joy to attend, unfortunately I was sick toward the end of semester which I missed a few lectures. They continue to inspire me to push my creative boundaries and to explore artistic frontiers. My highlight from the lectures was definitely discovering Toiletpaper magazine. Their graphics, photography and typography are oh so unique and fresh! Super cool!Ā
