Lucy Gray did not cause Snow to become a Dictator by playing with his mind. It was just society and his perceptions on the districts that did it. He just couldn't understand her point of view and it drove him crazy, because he couldn't fathom or accept that the people from the districts weren't animals or less than human.

Mary did not cause Clark to go crazy and live in the backrooms. The Backrooms and his mirror self did that. Did she do her job properly as a therapist? Absolutely not, I don't think she got anywhere in his sessions since she never really believed in the philosophy she advertises due to her trauma. But did she actively make Clark worse? Also no. He was already an aggressive and angry man with an outdated view on women. Mary had no part in that, because Clark wasn't fully ready to change in the first place. Plus, the backrooms would make almost ANYONE go crazy like that because it's an illogical place. I don't think Mary helped, but she definitely didn't make it worse.
