I really doubted that my necklace would be anywhere near arriving today, because it hadn't updated for days and days since leaving toronto, but now as of a few hours ago it's in the same city as me! so hopefully it gets delivered later today when the mail goes out :)

There's something about getting close to the end of a really good book where it feels like being on a bicycle and trying to stop from going too quickly down a hill (something I've rarely experienced on bicycles due to not having learned to ride one after my training wheels came off as a child before the thing was given away; I lived for a decade on the edge of what could have been a child killer turn, that is, if I kept bicycling) but being acutely unable to slow or stop the bike as well as you'd like without worrying about being entirely flung off of it. And now that I've finished reading the book, I feel both invigorated in completion and hollowed-out in knowing that is all there is to it, and like new avenues of the brilliantness of human writing have been opened up to me and also utterly incapable of ever producing a sentence which could be fit to live in the shadow of being in the same category of thing ("book") as what I have just read. It is well past three in the morning and I have stayed up well beyond the time I should have gone to bed in order to wake up at a proper time in the morning having still achieved sufficient sleep but it is so worth it.

#rubia speaks #it's a gold forzatina chain. it's a really nice one. good thickness for pendants it looks like. lobster clasp.#for all of the colourful or intricate sparklies i order sometimes it's the simpler sparklies i get most excited about #like a single chain but like a really nice chain #most of my most-worn jewelry pieces are actually quite simple in a way i wouldn't have guessed before i started outfit tracking

just saying. and this is all i have to say on the matter. but if i wrote a song over a decade back where a single very specific entertainment venue was used synechdoche-style to stand in for all such venues to represent what the protagonist's role model (?) was fortunate and wise and might i add fortunate to leave behind, with the symbolism of that place with the exploitative trappings of fame and showbusiness,

i would NOT. under any circumstances. be getting married anywhere NEAR that place if i wanted to maintain any sense of normalcy or romantic sentiment about my public image. in fact i would probably choose it if i wanted to make a statement of THIS LIFESTYLE IS EATING ME ALIVE more than ever

#i was so devastated years ago when i saw the 2011 tv ads about analogue tv going away FOREVER in my area #it felt so apocalyptic. constant dread every time i thought about it or whenever the ads aired. end of an era shit #and then it happened and it affected my life in exactly zero ways because i had cable anyway #in my defense some of the voiceovers on those switchover ads sounded kind of stern about it all rather than celebratory #and i think i just hated the end of anything.
