Hi 2026 It's been ~6 months since my last post. Everything is changing so rapidly that sometimes I feel I'm just reacting, and not reasoning (I believe this proves I'm not an AI). This behavior of the last few months is something I really want to change, especially for the upcoming months of the year. The amount of learnings about myself, my brain, and how I operate in general don't fit in one post, and I'm still in the process of learning. Due to that, I don't plan to share everything. I just wanted to be here and post again, for the sake of removing the dust from my website. But I will give a brief update about the things I'm interested in recently. First and foremost, ND brains — I'm reading a lot of content about how particular brains work and also learning a bit more about my own. I'm currently reading Don't Believe Everything You Feel by Robert L. Leahy. I also got really excited about old video games. This year I bought a PS2, PS3, and PS4 along with some games and a guitar, mic, and drums for the PS3. My collection just started but I plan to add more and make some changes — such as getting a PS2 Ocean Blue, finding a very good PS1 and a Super Nintendo, yet this year. I kept collecting TCG but not at the same pace, I have to say — but last week I made a modest purchase of a Riftbound pack. Another thing I'm excited about is how AI is impacting the way we work and operate as engineers, both individually and as groups. I've been reading several posts about organizations trying new things. Automattic was also running a Radical Speed Month, and all of them are attempting to reduce the friction between idea and rollout. AI has lowered some technology barriers and helped with triaging, automating, and coding — but there is still a long path to achieve the agency needed to launch new products quickly. I don't know if writing this counts as reasoning or just reacting with a keyboard. But it felt good to show up here again. https://rtio.dev/hi-2026/
