        ❝  you do ? ❞ okay, so maybe mantis wasn’t getting the hang of sarcasm. she’s TRYING… she’s been the center of many jokes for being too literal to the point where it’s just FUNNY now. maybe even a little exhausting. she sits back on the seat, a palm pressing into her forehead as things seemed to CLICK in her mind.

       “Yes! I was using my sarcastic voice!” Which was really just his normal, ragged voice that sounded more annoyed than usual. So really, honestly, truthfully, just sounded like his normal tone of voice. Rocket didn’t understand why she didn’t just get stuff. Why she had to have everything explained to her like a little kid. Rocket held all his trinkets close to him, in hopes to prevent her from poking anything else. 

He’s almost in disbelief. What was once glance has now jerked into a stare. Amber eyes that once held the answer to everything are now left searching for them. Is it really her? It couldn’t be. She died. Really died. As in, “everyone got brought back but her” kind of died.

If this is some kind of joke, some Skrull trying to irk one of the Guardians of the Galaxy by posing as one of their long lost family members. No one is making it out of this bar in one piece.

Rocket’s slow to approach. His small frame just hardly out of her line of sight. His head just hardly makes it over the height of the table.

          There’s a hesitance to his words. Pondering on what options an ex daughter of Thanos has. Not many, he figures. Maybe she could use her current allias to get farther. Play herself as a Guardian to get places, but he had this gut feeling that wouldn’t be something she would be okay to do. That’s not the kind of person she was.

         There is, however, another idea that comes to mind to help her. Rocket reaches into his pocket, pulling out a chip connected to a plastic screen. The old Gamora’s old hand terminal. He carried it on his person everywhere he went. For many years he told himself it kept him grounded in all those years spent without the team. Now he didn’t need it now that he had them back. Even if she was still missing from the line up.
