There isn’t a more popular section of the magazine than Fashion. It is also the hardest to get into and the most difficult to stay in. When the Fashionista finally became an assistant in the Fashion Department they had already been with the company for three years being an assistant in the Lifestyle section. With big dreams of being a fashion writer, they often crossed lines to get themselves noticed by the department before a rare opening was available to apply for.

Once they got the assistant job, The Fashionista got to work proving themselves worthy of working with high profile designers and being able to not only write for them but for the opportunity of creating their very own vision for the department. While the rise to the very top is still a reach away, they are confident and comfortable with themselves to continue the journey.

The Fashionista is the overachiever of all of the writers. They are often the first in the building and the last to leave, if they leave at all. The Fashionista is often found tucked away in the storage closet surrounded by clothes and shoes with their computer on their laps and a coffee as they work on their latest article.

There is a lot of determination that comes with being a lifestyle writer.  The Lifestylist is often dipping their toes into multiple departments to come up with contents for their articles and more than often stepping on toes to get what they want. While writing about the latest gossip and trends seems like an easy job, there is nothing more stressful than writing about the revolving door of things people like and dislike.

The Lifestylist spends their days scouring social media and creating polls for the world to partake in and while the job is fun, their writing often feel sour and lifeless. Coming up with a new angle on the latest rumor mill in the celebrity dating scene or just why fidget spinners are so popular, The Lifestylist can quickly become the most boring writer in the company.

However, Lifestyle is one of the most popular sections online and with fast breaking content being uploaded by the second, the Lifestylist is often working round the clock producing the latest and greatest. With the world becoming more and more interested in today’s trends, the Lifestylist is finding themselves personally the center of attention both in the office and outside of it finding their next story.

There isn’t a juicier a job than being a writer for the sex section for Crimson. The high class naughty articles are the entire reason the magazine began and the favorite section to this day. The Sexologist not only has the job of writing juicy articles that appeals to a current audience, but also must stay on top of the latest trends and topics.

The Sexologist knows that they have one of the most interesting but most difficult jobs in the magazine. They must not only uphold the high standards the magazine holds but must also stay true to the classy content readers know they can trust and enjoy. The Sexologist often relies on other writers in the department and their intern and assistant to carry the workload and bring in ideas, but ultimately carries the biggest load in the department.

With such a job, the Sexologist is often seen as the sex guru of the office and the one that people often go to for advice and tips. While they love the attention and the reputation that the job has given them, they never let it be known that while they can write the part they have never quite lived up to the act.

The Spokesperson gets the most anonymous messages on the online forums. With a job purely about speaking their mind and helping others do so as well, The Spokesperson is rarely without the backup of IT and Human Resources to assure that the backsplash from their work does not spill over into their personal lives. Being loudmouthed and opinionated makes them one of the magazine’s most valuable writers but also the most hated when their words offend their millions of readers.

The Spokesperson grew up knowing that they wanted to write about the world and what was wrong with it. When they got their first position at Crimson as an intern they knew that the magazine was going to be their home for the rest of their career. Starting at the bottom and being able to work themselves up to their dream position has been the most rewarding part of their lives.

As time goes on though and their opinionated articles become more and more heated, they know that they need to keep their personal life more and more distant from the magazine. With little to no people knowing the true ongoings of their life, the office rumor mill is often going and they definitely love their name always being of subject.

Rumor on the streets is that The Sportsman has the easiest job in the magazine. Having a widespread selection of sports games to write about, they are often thought as the section that only has to write about statistics and All Stars. The job is much more than that though and The Sportsman is often found in their office hunched over searching for the next story to break.

Wanting to be a writer that talks about more than scoreboards and general facts, The Sportsman is constantly making connections to create the next big thing in sports writing. Wanting to focus more on the psychological side of sports and create stories that have depth and meaning to them, they know that they have to work ten times as hard to create legitimacy within the magazine than anyone else.

Focusing entirely on their job during the day, the Sportsman is often found relaxing their evenings away at the nearest club or at home. While they are usually in tune with what is happening in the sport world at all times, they don’t often consume themselves entirely with work taking advantage of their hour lunches and personal time.

There is one thing that people always notice about the World Traveller. Their desk is never empty. For someone who has plane tickets at their fingertips, they never seem to leave Manhattan let alone the country. The World Traveller is in charge of the entire global section of the magazine. From planning the articles to personally selecting pictures they are front in center hands on with the entire experience, yet up until recently never actually got to go out and do their job personally.

Lately their office has been getting smaller and smaller and their ideas for the magazine have been getting less and less creative. In an effort to save their section and more importantly job, the World Traveller has begun putting themselves out there and redefining themselves as a writer again. What they are realizing as they begin this journey, is that they don’t know who they are anymore to even begin challenging themselves as a writer.

With a personal and professional goal to better themselves, the World Traveller is faced with questions of what led them to be a global writer in the first place. Setting a year long bucket list of 50 things and places to do and go before their next birthday, the World Traveller is determined to live up to their name and reputation.

The anonymity of the internet is raising the stakes for legitimacy and creativity.

The freedom to be loud, opinionated, and most importantly yourself comes at a risk and the internet knows exactly how to exploit it.  We are all just faceless individuals behind computers able to do what we want and when we want. The world is at our fingertips, and in return the world is fighting our every word. Struggling word for word and day by day writers are investing their time and energy for other people's entertainment and in return receiving nothing but hate.
