 This morning whilst still beneath the coze of our duvet, my partner and I began to speak of strategies for my art career.  Coming off the back of the huge exhibition of “100 Years” at The Substation, admittedly I have been quite slack this month.

 Each success calls for yet another greater and bigger success.  With “100 Years” I had managed to get on the local radio, but recently Emma McEvoy was on the first page of the online Age with her exhibition “Sand Castles”.  “Sand Castles” was a house in Fitzroy filled with 3 tonnes of sand, and some very commercial photos of the dune filled houses of Namibia’s ghost town, Kolmanskop.  We both agreed that the installation could have been a little better in its aesthetic --it wasn’t exactly wind swept as those Namibian homes-- but the crowds were hectic.

             What stunt was I going to have to pull to get that kind of coverage? And was I going to get a gallery at some point? Do I go more commercial?
