I can’t believe I never found this fic before when I scourged the depths of wattpad but here we are! This got too long anywho just wanted to say this fic is so awesome and cool ok bye !!

I wanted to share some old sketches from when I was first coming up with the story. It's fun to look at how bad I was at drawing MePhone at first lol.

These are the first ever drawings I did of "Tortilla." I remember realizing very quickly that without her leaves and other ingredients...she kind of looked bald. I fixed this by giving her a cool hat. 🎩

I made this comic as a way of exploring how the initial premise would go. If you've read the fic, this is comic is pretty much exactly how it happens there.

I draw lots of comics and doodles of story events before I end up writing them. It's a lot of fun, and it lets me experiment with stuff before finalizing. I even have whole scenes from the story in comic form! (I'll post them in a separate post lol)

This comic was made as an exploration of the emotions I needed Taco to understand. When you write, it's important to really get inside your characters head, which is why making a comic like this can be very helpful!

The final scene may be pretty different, but this comic still holds up by itself! Enjoy! 🌮🎩

I'm gonna post the commission with an exerpt from the story, partly for my own personal enjoyment, and also so people see the great work HoodedJelly did!

Tortilla looked at her own drink. It looked like normal lemonade. Picking it up, Tortilla brought it up to her face. She gave it a whiff. It smelled like lemonade, and that same overpowering bitter scent. Tortilla wasn’t sure if she liked the smell or not, but she didn’t want to seem ungrateful. It was rude to be picky.

Tortilla took a long sip. The bitter taste was overwhelming. Tortilla stopped, keeping the liquid in her mouth. Cobs was glancing at her with a suspicious expression. Without any other options, Tortilla swallowed her drink.

“...Phew.” She breathed.

“Uhhh, you ok?” Cobs gave her a teasing look.

“...Mhm!” Tortilla quickly took another sip of her drink, making sure to swallow it quickly. She gave Cobs a thumbs up. “Yummy…!”

Cobs squinted. Then, bringing his hand up to his face, he smiled and began to laugh. He kept giggling to himself, seemingly entertained by Tortilla's strange behavior.
