I think the first time I ever thought about the fact that robots cant cry was when I was really little and first read the book series Hilo (main character is, spoiler, a robot) and I barely Remeber anything about it but ONE particular scene from book six really stuck with me all my life

And it drove me insane when I first read it because yeah they cant that makes sense but like. For some reason I’m always hyper aware of this fact now whenever I see any show, book, etc with a robot I can’t help but think about how they can (depending on how they’re written) feel intense pain, sorrow, joy, anger but they can’t cry about it. OK SURE. OK
