she didn't know what she was expecting — for you to come back, smiling and teasing her like nothing happened? for her to be right and you actually went out partying?

it wasn't until yoonchae arrived a few hours later, dropping her things on the floor with a tired sigh, that her stomach twisted.

"y/n unnie is crazy," yoonchae muttered. "she has been practicing choreo for three hours."

sophia froze, "she actually went to practice?"

yoonchae blinked innocently at her, "yeah." and continued to unpack her things.

"so.. she's still there?" the filipina asked, earning a nod from the younger girl. "did she say when she'd come back?"

"nope, she was still dancing when i left."

sophia stayed silent, debating on whether she should text the girl or not.

but she didn't. she waited. she was sat up on her bed, switching between staring at her hands and staring at the door. she waited, and waited. until she couldn't anymore.

she didn't realise she had fallen asleep until yoonchae shook her awake. "sophia, breakfast is ready downstairs."

she looked around the room, but to her dismay - there was no sight of you. your bed was as neat as it was yesterday.

she rubbed her eyes and nodded silently. she groggily got up and followed yoonchae downstairs.

she halted when she saw you with daniela and marquise, giggling about something with a bowl in your hands. you looked up to the staircase when you heard footsteps and met eyes with the filipina girl. your smile slightly faltered, but you looked away when marquise made another joke about the tiktok you shared with her.

you avoided each other, despite the cameras pointing towards you. after finishing breakfast, you made your way upstairs to get ready for practice, unaware that sophia was trailing behind you. you entered your room and flinched when it closed behind you. you turned on your heel, hands flying to your chest.

"jesus, sophia. give a little warning next time–"

"you didn't come home last night." she stated. you awkwardly shifted from one foot to another, "uh, i did. i just crashed in dani's because i didn't want to wake you guys up."

sophia stayed silent before taking a hesitant step towards you. "y/n, can we... can we talk?"

"there's no need, sophia. i'll talk to missy about our arrangement so you can focus on yourself and your own practice."

"y/n–"

"no. there's no need for us to talk. you said what you said, i said what i said. that's all. i don't hold grudges and we don't have time to be worrying about things like this. so.. we can just pretend like nothing happened."

“i–” sophia began before you cut her off, “look, i gotta get ready. let’s just.. move past this, okay? i’ll talk to missy later, and we can continue to pretend to be ‘besties’ in front of the cameras.”

before she could get another word in, you walked into the bathroom and shut the door, leaving her in your shared room alone.
