Baby, Please Don’t Go

As much as I don’t want you to leave, I’m always going to let you do your thing. It’s just funny how it all works out. This is like my 5th strike, and I’m still going at it. We always take this space away from each other and then come back like it’s all good. But as soon as you find something better, you have a way with leaving. Your love is like a parasite; baby, you do well to take what you need from me. You want me to wait one day, and then leave the other. You know what you want, but you just don’t know how to have it. You’re a great person nevertheless. I just hope you find someone who could be more than what I was to you, and I know I was there for you every time your world came crashing down. You told me, “Stop being so vulnerable to my words. Do your own thing. I can’t ask you to wait for me again ‘cause I keep messing up. Think about what you really want. Do what’s best for you.” Speechless without the sound, but in my mind, I reminded myself of what I do best: being with you. And what I want most: to be with you. And to do my own thing? Well, to think and care about you is a vital part of me doing me.
