It’s a tie. With Edelgard, five years thinking your never-actually-confessed love is dead does a lot to you. With Byleth, knowing about Edelgard’s past and the physical suffering it causes her, not to mention the obvious separation anxiety she has now, she just wants to wrap her up in a blanket and steal her from the world

Edelgard. Byleth worries for Edelgard to a degree, but when she disappeared, Edelgard speed ran worrying to death and won the gold medal for it

Edelgard. It takes them nearly a year and a half for Edelgard to be comfortable putting her body on full display with all of her scars but Byleth never minded

Edelgard. Once she feels more comfortable holding Byleth’s hand she constantly wonders to herself why she stopped herself from reaching out sooner and therefore decides to make up for lost time

Neither, unless they’re sick. They’re both morning people and like to get an earlier start to the day

Edelgard. After Byleth disappeared one of the only things Edelgard had left of her was an old cloak of Byleth’s that Edelgard offered to sew and never got the chance. She wore it constantly in private and cried when it didn’t smell like her anymore.

Byleth. Edelgard can’t help it, her partner is just the perfect mixture of accidental chaos and silliness

What do they do when they’re away from each other?
Edelgard mopes around subtly and sleeps on Byleth’s side of the bed. Byleth tries to keep a decent poker face but she’ll steal Edelgard’s fancy perfume and take it with her on any solo trips

Who is the morning/night person?
They’re both morning people

Sometimes they’ll switch positions but the majority of the time Edelgard is the little spoon. She has a fierce desire to be held while she sleeps (something she denies but Byleth knows is very true) and Byleth likes the feeling of wrapping her arms around her emperor and protecting her from harm.

Byleth. She’s only done it once because she wanted to see if Edelgard would drop everything she was holding in order to catch her. That did not happen twice.
