Born in Notting Hill to a well-established family, Rodrick never felt like like he's missing anything throughout his childhood. His mother was a school teacher, and his father owned a cafe in town.
Rodrick always looked up to his parents, and alongside his twin sister he always felt loved and cared for.
Rodrick found himself many days after school in his father's cafe, helping out with work, that's actually what he remembers most of his childhood memories with his father.
It was interesting growing up with a twin sister, they had their fair share of ups and downs throughout the years, and there had been many years throughout their twenties where they haven't spoke much, or fought a lot once they did, both being prideful and stubborn individuals.
around their late twenties, Rodrick's father became ill, and eventually when Rodrick was 27 his fater passed away.
Rodrick was devastated and with the great loss him and his sister grew a very strong bond, and now she is one of the people he feels closest to.
Rodrick decided that he shouldn't let his father's business die, and picked it up as his own. It was definitely not his major plan in life, but life brought him there, and he's not regretful of that choice. While there are moments where he wonders what would happen if he were to choose a different path for himself, he's not letting those thoughts linger.
A few years after, Rodrick met a woman that changed his life completely. He was so focused on learning how to run a business that he couldn't really think of anything else until she walked in.
He dated her for three years and eventually decided to marry her. The marriage lasted half a year before they both realized that this isn't working out for them. The fights were too big, there were too many things they didn't see eye to eye, and frankly, she realized that she wanted bigger things than to spend her entire life in a small town, doing the same job until she's old enough.
Something about the divorce broke something inside of him, and he's definitely not the same as he was before that. He became a lot less trusting, has less faith in things lasting, and became a lot more closed off to those he's been involved with.

Rodrick was in the process of closing up the cafe for the night. It was a weak day, not too many customers, and so he let most of his workers finish up their shift and go home, the rest were busy washing up and stacking up chairs on tables. Rick finished wiping up the counter and sat down on one of the stools. He opened up a bottle of white wine and poured himself a glass. He turned his head at the sound of the door opening and saw a person walk in. "The coffee machine's off, but you're more than welcome to join me for for a glass of wine."
